    Jacking up your Blackwing

The pinch weld is stronger than you think. It is the attaching point on the car when you have to pull the unibody after a collision.

    First Caddy

I still have my "First Caddy". My Dad's 1967 Cadillac deVille convertible. Currently sitting under two car covers, with over 205,000 miles, on the side of my house with about 2 feet of snow. I need to really buy a new house with multiple garage space. My second Caddy was a 1972 Fleetwood...

Deal killer for getting ct5-v blackwing…winter set up?

Nope. Car will sit in the climate controlled garage until more daylight hours and higher temperatures. And enough rainfall has effectively washed the road salt away.

Help! 25 5BW Torch Red Seatbelts

Wear your seatbelt all the time. I just did a military honor guard funeral today for a 22 year old female Army Reserve soldier who is dead because she didn't wear her seat belt. You do it for your loved ones. Last week it was a 24 year old male active duty soldier. Too young to die so soon...

What do you do for a living?

Writing books AND getting them published and turning a profit is very rare. When I got hired by my local PD, I needed a Sig Sauer 226 and bought a used one (never used to fire a round) and I was told it belonged to one of our recently retired cops who wrote the book "Exit Wounds" and rights...

What do you do for a living?

I was a cop for 28+ years. 11 in NYPD /Transit (lots of nutcases in the hole) and then 18 in my hometown Village. Dealt with many subjects who I could identify as "not all there" pretty quickly. I don't know if I could sit there questioning and testing these people without clocking them in...

What do you do for a living?

I've heard of forensic accountants and forensic scientist.....what the heck does a forensic psychologist do ? Never mind. I just asked my brother (retired cop) and he said a forensic psychologist is a professional bullshit artist ! Does it pay well?🤣

What did you do to your Blackwing today?

Sounds like an insurance claim waiting to happen. I would just rent or borrow someone else's car than put a roof rack or tow hitch. Or give up biking.:_rock

    10k for wheels?

Looks like too many nooks and crannies for brake dust to gather , for me.

    Wrapped roof?

I have only heard thru the grapevine, to NOT use carbon fiber as an antenna cover. I am not a scientist. https://novatel.com/support/known-solutions/can-carbon-fiber-be-used-as-an-antenna-cover

    Wrapped roof?

I just found this image of what is inside that shark fin. Looks very high tech. It has antenna's for GPS, Wi-Fi, AM/FM radio and bluetooth.

Started at 17 years old (1981) . Military Police as enlisted. Then Flight Operations . Then OCS and became a Huey Pilot. Now at 61 years old, I perform Honor Guard final honors at funerals for veterans. 12 funerals in just the last 5 weeks.

What did you do to your Blackwing today?

I have the tender connected directly to the battery in the trunk. I had to do some wiring that leaves a pigtail connection readily accessible to plug in. I have the Schumacher battery tender that comes with a few different attachments. Getting to the trunk battery is very tight ! When I...

CT5-V HORRIBLE experience with Bayway Cadillac SW

Everything is "negotiable" when buying a new car. The only things NOT negotiable are the tax , title and some fees. MSRP clearly says Manufacturers "SUGGESTED" Retail Price. You just need to do your homework before sitting down with the salesman and later the finance guy who will try and undo...

    2024 mod plan/warranty info!

Here is my train of thought on my 5BW ownership. The car came "perfect" from the factory. (Except for no sunglass holder.) I don't need or want anymore power or performance. I have done some cosmetic changes to my liking. If you don't plan on tracking the car.....just leave well enough...

    PDR and SD Card

You have to hit it with a big hammer. (just kidding). It shouldn't take any more than a slight push. Just make sure you have it facing the right way.

What did you do to your Blackwing today?

Its still better than leaving sit for 4-5 months. I take my collision off to save about 4-600$. I do usually just drive it down the long driveway and back. Been doing it for decades with my cars and never had a problem. Learned the hard way to keep a battery tender on them.

What did you do to your Blackwing today?

I was thinking about taking the 75 mile one-way trip to visit my BW in hibernation and start it up for a while.

What did you do to your Blackwing today?

I have had Geolanders on my Suburban and now my Jeep Grand Cherokee. When it snows , they are great. This is the first substantial snow NY has had in 5-6 years.

    Wrapped roof?

I don't remember if I bought mine from Savage. I most likely did. There were 4 quarter inch strips of 3 M tape that you peel off and just press it on top of the existing shark fin. The thickness of the tape, although thin, does leave a small gap. I may even just let my pinstripe guy run a...
