Would you recommend this as a "family Corvette"?

Sorry.............guess you're right......... It was VETT45. Corvette for 5 of us. At the time, Texas did not allow enough room on license plates for spaces, so nobody ever got it. Yes it fit 5 of us. I had to add a 3rd seatbelt for the hump in the back. It was a long time ago and my kids were...

    It's been a year now

If you include boats in your the vehicle budget, cars may just be a drop in the bucket. :) Many share the same sentiment as I regarding the BW - there were no choices with 3 pedals, but we're so happy with how it turned out, we aren't sad about the lack of choices in the current market.

    It's been a year now

Congratulations @BimmerFan !! I hope the love affair continues. The 59 Eldo is one of the greatest styling accomplishments in automotive history. And certainly the most excessive. :)

    Password for Connected Services

I got prompted for my password even though it has not changed nor had anything else changed. It appears to just automatically forget the saved password after 2 or 3 weeks between ignition cycles. How long was it since your last drive when it prompted you ?

    CT5-V Blackwing vs. Ioniq 5 N

Car & Driver just named the Ioniq 5 N their EV of the year. They were infatuated by the fake engine noises and simulated shifts. I was very surprised they fell for it, but I don't think I could for even a minute............ What would be great is to see some genuine innovation instead of...

CT5-V Has your engine blown up yet?

This web site is great. Another interesting dynamic will the changing of the guard as the original owners give way to 2nd and 3rd owners of these great cars. I recently had a Big Dog chopper, and participated in their incredibly active and fantastic forum while I had it. Big Dog was the...

    Tall Steve's Blackwings

I didn't take pics with my girl Friday night, but it was the first time I've driven my 5BW in nearly 3 months. Had rotator cuff surgery at the beginning of June and am finally able to shift the gears !! Sure was great getting back into the saddle............ I can reach the bikes' handlebars...

CT4-V Thinking about doing something a bit off the wall.... maybe a bit crazy. Thoughts.

Sounds reasonable. I've been stunned by what people are paying for PPF. Anxious to hear or see actual results of removing the "removable" spray on product.

CT4-V Thinking about doing something a bit off the wall.... maybe a bit crazy. Thoughts.

I love chrome............. :) I am curious about the cost though. I see wrapped vehicles in all sorts of colors and it seems like a cool way to change things up.

The Rise and Fall of the…..

I saw that article too. Just another reminder why our cars have the silliest name ever............

    CEL on Code P1400

Brave adventure buying a known replaced motor. OTOH, probably a great car at a great price. It's interesting to see the 2nd owners showing up on the forum now. Best of luck !! Keep us posted on progress......

    Ouch!!!

Yeah, while you can (mostly) still get your own brand new one, I wouldn't expect anything crazy for used ones.

    Truck tread draws first blood.

Glad its not worse. It is a dreadful feeling seeing it coming and not being able to avoid................my episode set me back about $2K. At least I got a souvenir :)

CT4-V Some thoughts after test driving an auto 4-v blackwing, and asking for some advice regarding manual vs auto

This is exactly where it would get tricky. For us 3-pedal devotees, the BW is a no-brainer. If you don't want to row your own gears, there is LOTS of competition. Many threads posted here give lots of personal experiences with many other cars, mostly from Germany.

CT4-V Some thoughts after test driving an auto 4-v blackwing, and asking for some advice regarding manual vs auto

OP - kinda interesting question. Likely not much helpful advice. I think many of us bought the BW specifically because its available with a clutch. That's what makes it unique. For people who love them, there is no alternate. I can't imagine being OK with the slushbox when a real, 3-pedal...

    Blown Motor

There is a specified break in period. The tach shows don't go over 4K (? going from memory) for first 500 miles, and first oil change is recommended at 1,500 miles. I followed both. Got 2nd oil change recently per oil life tracker, at about 5,000 miles.

    2023 CT5 Blackwing engine failure

The 2 car strategy is what convinced me $100 for the CT5 was the way to go. It's brand new, and still similar or cheaper than a kid hauler + used fun toy. And you never have to drive a minivan !! And its brand new and under warranty !! Unlike that C6 or older 911..........

Any CELs with Kooks Headers on CT5V BW??

Does anybody know that if CEL is eliminated, will the non-cat cars pass an actual smog test ? I know @WONT TAP offers tunes and the DTC Assassin, so I figure I'll have to do all those if (when :) ) I get the Kooks. There are a couple of other settings I'm very anxious to change, so I think it...
