    catalyst inefficiency codes, 100% stock

You're probably right that it's a false positive, but since the car is under warranty, I'm gonna let the dealer have at it. If it was out of warranty, I would probably add some CAP catted O2 spacers--I have them on my 2011 Audi S4 and my 2004 Porsche 911 Turbo, both of which are decatted, yet...

CT5-V Installed aftermarket carbon ceramic brakes on 5BW, pictures and impressions

No track days yet but the local track's first day of the season is in Tuesday, and I'll most likely drive my Blackwing. I'll post impressions at that point. Otherwise, no issues. Well, two things I've noticed. There is a kind of "groaning" from the brakes under light pedal pressure at low...

    catalyst inefficiency codes, 100% stock

I just got the P0420 code in the last couple hundred miles. Actually, I've had the CEL for a couple hundred miles, just got around to checking it last night. It's bank 1. Car is a stock 2023 with 7900 miles on it. Probably 220-240 minutes of track time, otherwise street driven. I always let...

CT5-V 5BW tire wear running the track alignment on the street.. time for an in-between alignment?

I replaced the brake fluid with Prestone DOT4 before heading to the track--it has a dry boiling point of 496F and is available for cheap at local auto parts stores. It's not Castrol SRF's 590F boiling point (wow, just looked that up) but I haven't run into any fade or fluid boiling issues...

CT5-V Installed aftermarket carbon ceramic brakes on 5BW, pictures and impressions

No problems that I am aware of. Suspension feels fine both in full soft and full firm. Haven't tested panic-stop braking to see if there is any ABS weirdness, but brake feel has been good for normal and spirited driving thus far.

CT5-V Installed aftermarket carbon ceramic brakes on 5BW, pictures and impressions

Good question, and unfortunately one I don't know how to answer. Presumably the compound of these pads would work with the factory CCBs, but AFAIK, the factory CCBs use different calipers than the iron brakes, so these actual pads probably would not be drop-ins for the factory CCBs.

More pics of the rotors prior to install--I didn't realize that the forum was cutting off attachments in excess of 10, per post.

CT5-V Installed aftermarket carbon ceramic brakes on 5BW, pictures and impressions

What the brake rotors looked like after probably 30 miles of gentle street driving and 50ish miles of twisties with mild-to-moderate braking (50% pedal effort or less, I think).

CT5-V Installed aftermarket carbon ceramic brakes on 5BW, pictures and impressions

Some pictures of the the caliper bolts, which are single-use torque-to-yield. I forgot to order them before starting the project, and waiting for them put it on hold for about a week. The fronts came with thread locker installed, the rears did not, so I used blue loctite. The rears didn't...

CT5-V Installed aftermarket carbon ceramic brakes on 5BW, pictures and impressions

My 5BW is a 2023, that I ordered with the iron brakes. I'd never experienced CCBs before, and thought it was hard to justify the $9K expense. In 2024, I bought a C7 Z06 with the Z07 package, which has CCBs. I was blown away by the stopping performance--the initial bite is so strong, it...

CT5-V 5BW tire wear running the track alignment on the street.. time for an in-between alignment?

So you think most of my tire wear is from the track, not the street? WWTR is a counter-clockwise track, and it is tough on the passenger-side front tire for sure--especially the banked oval section. But NCM is clockwise, and seems less prone to tire abuse. Pics of my tires included for...

CT5-V 5BW tire wear running the track alignment on the street.. time for an in-between alignment?

I did a track day (four 20-minute sessions) with my 5BW with the street alignment, at WWTR near St. Louis, back in September 2023. It chewed up the outside edge of the passenger side front tire, so much so that I replaced it after the track day. I then had the track alignment installed. I did...

    CT5-V CT5 Blackwing oil change

As others have said, the 0W40 flows much better when cold than the 5W50. While the difference in flow is less, the warmer the ambient temp when doing a "cold" start, it's still there. The 5BW doesn't run its oil hot, even on the track, so IMO there is no need for the 5W50 even if you are...

CT5-V What are the torque specs for the front and rear brake caliper mounting bolts?

Thanks, I used those torque numbers when installing the new bolts. The front bolts did have thread locker on them, which was colored red, so I assume it's the "OMG you aren't ever going to get this off" stuff.. which would explain why the stockers were so hard to remove. I used blue loctite...
