At SM, instructors said that anything lower than PTM sport will pull throttle during hard acceleration and if u lose traction during turns. So u can put engine to low setting but ptm to sport or track 1 or track 2 and it won’t cut throttle.
I don’t think anything happens in manual. I asked the spring mt guys and I know they don’t know all but they also said nothing happens with that with a manual.
They explain that u should be in ptm sport to give the car some ability to spin tire and not pull. U don’t want to turn off all the nanny’s because that causes the car to go sideways which makes it diff in 0-60. They teach u at class how to do launch control which will help your 0-60.
I think most of the folks in 4BW on east loop were doing 125ish. So it isn’t too slow. Although i scratch my head when some folks said instructors were running 116 on 4BWs while teach folks. Crazy.
When I was at spring mountain, they somehow had it setup where you push v button twice and it went in track mode with ptm sport. Anyhow know how to set this up? Right now I just have my v-mode as street but would be nice to be able to push v mode twice and go into ptm sport quickly.
When I was at spring mountain, they were beating the hell out of the manual CT5 BWs for 8000 miles of hard shifts and launched. Couple stalls isn’t going to do a thing.
If your car battery dies on a car with this much tech, no push on 2nd gear is going to start it.
Just for fun, I put my CT5 BW with 5 miles, manual with mid tier seats couple months back. Got a I’m stumped message. Sent them a note and got back s quote at $90K. I ended up trading the car in for what I bought it for for a custom built spec and the dealer sold it within 2 days $5k above...
My CT5BW is my first manual. I was worried a bit initially but driving it hasn’t been bad. Also SM helped me see how much the car can be pushed that I won’t be accidentally burning out or spinning the car if I shifted it wrong.
