    What would you do?

Back in the day - with my Stage 3 B5 Audi S4 - where I was used to pretty much being faster then just about anything - I only ever got truly smoked twice. Once by a mid-2000s era well modded supercharged Mustang and another time by a C5 Z06 Vette (that was also obviously modded). Both were from...

    What would you do?

I generally agree - its usually not worth it....but sometimes one just can;t help it. (good to do a check around first though if you can). I often find other folks racing me and I'm sometimes confused....but then I get it. Its just me driving like I do and other folks think I'm actually trying...

    First time V-car owner

LOL I used to make exercise scenario videos for DOD back in the day and I once had the occasion to include a bit that had a reference to Tailhook...but I didn't want the spot pulled due to sensitivities so I called it the meathook conference instead...everyone got it but no higher ups felt the...

Nearing the end of the Goat Rodeo

I did follow th 1,500 mile suggested break in though I'm often skeptical of the absolute need in doing so. As tough as it is trying one's patience its probably best to be conservative....but I think as long as you avoid burn outs and crazy stuff early on you[re probably OK. It was particularly...

Nearing the end of the Goat Rodeo

Cool. Be interesting to hear your impressions of the Caddy after driving pretty recent BMWs. I think the Caddy compares favorably in pretty much all respects. Don't forget to let the engine break in - at least 500 miles (some say it needs more)....before revving it out like crazy... I used to...

Nearing the end of the Goat Rodeo

Congrats! (in advance)....great freeway cruiser but to test the limits you'll need to take to the hills. Post some pics and an update when it arrives. What cars are you coming from (or still own)? I had one on order and joined this forum. Somebody here pointed out there was a car for sale in...

New Member - NoVA Area CT5V BW

You the man! Its been awfully cold out here in NVA these past few weeks. I just look at my BW and cry. Hopefully I'll get the chance to wash it off in a week or so when it warms up...

    Apex Wheels for CT4-V Blackwing

Not the same wheel - mine are VS5 RS - but here is a nice pic I took of mine. I think all of their wheels look great and they are light and seem very sturdy....can't recommend them highly enough...

    Media dumps

My old shop had a side business modding Suburbans (and possibly Escalades but I can't recall) - adding armour plating as well as additional lights (red and blue etc and otherwise) and com gear etc. As the Crown Prince of Dubai co-owned the building I think he and other Middle Eastern Monarchs...

New from PA, 25 CT5V Blackwing, deep space metallic w/ cf

Not on track....just runs from a dig. I never timed the car but think it was likely mid 11s give or take. Nothing got off the line like that beast....it would pull you down to the pavement and just go....only ever got wheelspin on gravel or snow/ice...

New from PA, 25 CT5V Blackwing, deep space metallic w/ cf

1gturbo - congrats - car looks great and I agree with you 100% wrt bronze wheels. Love that CTS-V wagon as well. Always loved and respected those EVOs...but just an aside....back in the day I ran vs several (modded) ones with my Audi S4....and never lost (all were very close 1/2 car length at...

    CT4-V 4BW to C8, tempted

I have to say I just loved the driving dynamics of my mid-engined supercharged MR2. Certainly not as fast as a C8 (but it was a quick car for the time). Being so small and mid-engined made it almost telepathic in lane changes with unsurpassed ability to weave through traffic. The supercharger...

    CT4-V CT4 V blackwing vs RS3 6 months later

Got to admit - I really hated the look of the MK 5 when it came out....I wasn't even sold on the (looks of the) MK VI when I bought ours in 2010. They've both grown on me quite a bit.

Some statement....but great to hear from someone who obviously has some relevant experience.

    CT4-V CT4 V blackwing vs RS3 6 months later

I still consider myself an Audi guy though I've only had one Audi and both loved it (very much) and hated it (very much at times....due to its non-reliability issues). There has always been much to like and admire about Audis starting way back...though reliability has been an issue and not just...

    Seat Belt Chime Disable

I'm a big believer in seat belts (and have come around on air bags after first - a long time ago - being a skeptic). I wear belts 100% in all cars now. But it wasn't always that way. Up until maybe 5-10 years ago I wouldn't wear my belts in our old classic Mustang. My wife constantly berated me...

    Loud shifter when cold

I hope its not an issue but I do have some trans clunkiness when its cold out. Though today I let the car heat up a bit before driving it and there was no hint of the problem...though the 2nd gear shift was still just a bit stiff.
