    CT4-V CT4 BW ARH Downpipes

Here’s the break down: Purple arrow is the inlet, coming from the turbo outlet. Green dot is the primary O2 sensor. Light blue is the primary cat. Yellow is air gap between the cats. Red dot is secondary O2 sensor. Dark blue is the secondary cat.

    CT4-V CT4 BW ARH Downpipes

Secondary cats have less precious metal loading, they’re used mainly in conjunction with the primary cats during the warm up phase. Once the primary cats are up to temp, there is little demand on the secondary cats, that’s why they are unmonitored. Further, because the primary cats take the...

    CT4-V CT4 BW ARH Downpipes

Technically that description is correct. The secondary cats are positioned further down the exhaust stream (by 2”). Typical cat assembly design.

    CT4-V CT4 BW ARH Downpipes

Ok, looking into this further, I can see that there may be confusion here. I can even tell from the thumbnail of this video that there are secondary cats. Common misconception, as the OE “cat assembly” looks like one big cat, but there is an air gap between the primary and secondary stage...

    CT4-V CT4 BW ARH Downpipes

Granted I am not 100% familiar with the CT4, but unless there are main cats untouched in front of these downpipes, then these pipes have the secondary cats removed. That’s a performance opportunity, but an emissions violation in the eyes of the EPA.

    CT4-V CT4 BW ARH Downpipes

fyi, it doesn’t matter if individual cats are EPA approved if the total number of cats is reduced. All aftermarket downpipes eliminate the secondary cats, and that is most definitely not EPA approved. Just an FYI. It’s a common marketing “pseudo truth” that downpipe and header companies like...

What "don't" you like about your BW"?

huh, I stand corrected, but that break in process seems to refer to "lower quality aftermarket cats", not to OE-grade (which come with a much longer federally mandated warranty)...

What "don't" you like about your BW"?

I've never, ever heard of a "break-in" for a cat. The way they work is basic chemistry. The bricks are "padded" in their cans with a wrap of furnace-lining type material to account for differentials in expansion/contraction, as well as vibration (which isn't limited to break-in). For what it's...

CT5-V Manual 25 Blackwing no blindspot monitoring. Why

I think there’s a lot more to the equation, including control modules and coding. When scanning my 2025 MT, there are no “side view monitoring” modules present. I think those are supposed to be located at the rear bumper corners, not in the mirror heads themselves. Blind spot monitor overview...

    Gauge display resets?

I started a thread on software glitches before, do you guys also have the other issues after several days of not driving as I listed here? https://www.cadillacvnet.com/forums/threads/2025-gauge-glitches-and-software-updates.6364

CT5-V 2025 CT5V BW battery dead, drivers manual key entry not functional

Of course. I’m referring to summer tires on cold pavement. There’s still traction, just not a lot, yet enough for the nannies to do their throttle cut/ediff/selective ABS magic.

CT5-V 2025 CT5V BW battery dead, drivers manual key entry not functional

lol, makes for an invigorating driving experience. And unless you specifically change PTM settings, the nannies will catch you if you go too hoonigan, anyway.

    Order Question

I’ve had up to a dozen orders in at once. Whatever dealership got me an allocation first, with all my desired options, would win. Only had to put in a $1k deposit at one of the dealers, and it was under the condition of being fully refundable, which they did when I finally got an allocation...

    2026 allocation

If you’re looking for non-stocking dealer recommendations, I’d recommend Turnersville NJ Cadillac. I put in an order with about a dozen dealers within 30 mile radius and they were the only one that was able to get me (multiple) allocations. I say multiple because twice an allocation came up...

Yep. Any of them on Amazon with the GL50448 spec will do the job.

    Tire Monitor Fix

Any of them will work, but this one double dips with Ford, a twofer: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C23WDB2D?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title The tool and letting the air out of the tire method both “wake up” the sensor when the car is in learn mode, and the car then knows to pair with them...
