    Track rats rejoice!

Yes, your limit on rear camber on the 5BW is having enough length in the rear toe link to get the wheel pointed straight. Longer toe links allow you to maximize the available camber adjustment. I’m at -1.8 in the rear with the SPL links.

    Track rats rejoice!

To fully exploit the extra grip you're going to need more spring to support the lateral load. Stiffer bushings will yield better feel, better feel yields more driver confidence, more driver confidence yields faster lap times. The only way to get enough rear camber is to go with different rear...

    Track rats rejoice!

Sounds like multiple calibration updates including steering and suspension. I bet changing out all the bushings would be hard. Add in the new PDR and I’m looking to understand what it would cost me to upgrade.

I’m waiting on pricing but looks like it’s worth an upgrade to me.

CT5-V Must have for track alignments

I have both. I can’t remember of I had to buy separately, but I thought it all came together.

Cadillac Smart Driver and Privacy Concerns

Looks like GM cancelled the safe driver program. https://www.forbes.com/sites/antoniopequenoiv/2024/04/24/general-motors-axes-onstar-smart-driver-system-after-privacy-and-insurance-complaints/

    Alignment

I haven’t tried this, but if you remove the bug bolt, insert the adjuster bolt, and then lower the car, you should be able to set the alignment with the adjuster bolt. Once you get that right, just lift the car, remove the wheel, and tighten the big bolt. Or you can use hub stands which is...

Cadillac Smart Driver and Privacy Concerns

Well, I got my LN report and sure enough, it's full of data from my track days. It treats each session as it's own trip, so how about we play to see has the highest score? I'll start.

    Brake wear sensor wire connector

If you haven’t already worn down the old sensor, you might be able to pop it off the old pad. Then either pop it on the new pad or zip tie it out of the way.

Cadillac Smart Driver and Privacy Concerns

Always worth checking, but the PDR module is separate and has its own GPS antenna.

Cadillac Smart Driver and Privacy Concerns

I just went back in the app under settings and guess what? I wasn’t enrolled for my Blackwing any more, but both my C7 GS (dedicated track car) and C7 ZR1 (totaled) were still enrolled.

Cadillac Smart Driver and Privacy Concerns

Mine was checked less than a month Ang was off. When I checked again this weekend and found it on, it had dat going back at least to last August and likely much further. What I’m worried about now is all the prior GM vehicles that I’ve sold, but there is no way to remove them from my GM...

Cadillac Smart Driver and Privacy Concerns

I started looking at past months data in the app and was still seeing hard accel and braking events. I went back to last August when my last track event in this car and it as something like 364 events. At that point I just turned it off and requested by l-n report.

Cadillac Smart Driver and Privacy Concerns

I generally try to be rational and balanced on things, but I have to admit this has really soured me on GM. I’ll wait to see if this shows up in my LN report before I get too worried.

The LexisNexus online form gave me the option to delete my info. I’m in VA.

Cadillac Smart Driver and Privacy Concerns

Well this is BS. When this thread first came up, I checked and confirmed safe driver was turned off. I just checked again and not only is it turned on, but the data seems to go back to my entire history with the car. I’ve turned it back off and requested my LexisNexus as well as asking them to...

    5 BW Clutch Replacement

The issue with the clutch is the shared fluid reservoir with the brakes. If you don’t bleed them properly the clutch won’t return all the way after a shift. Seems to only happen on track once you get the fluid really hot. Happened to my 5BW in two separate track events and to my friends 4BW...

    5 BW Clutch Replacement

Still easier than replacing the clutch in a C6/C7 Corvette.
