    Dealer racing new 5BW

To anyone just seeing this thread, don't watch the video. You'll be dumber after listening to those clowns, even for a little while.

    Blackwing Nightmare (long)

Regarding the brakes ..... Another possible item, albeit small, to include in the "yes" column when considering CCBs?

Anyone considered re-gearing the manual, or maybe change rear-end ratio?

I'm not in that camp, but I can see both sides. Not an either/or question. I certainly do use 6th in that situation. But I also recognize the gearing and find myself using 5th at times when I'd more or less automatically be in 6th in other cars. Just depends on what the car needs.

    2025 CT4V Blackwing?

Don't you guys think it's more likely that GM is avoiding what we saw a few years ago where the CT5-V Blackwing completely overshadowed the CT4-V Blackwing when both were introduced at the same time? The 4 never got the full credit it deserved, always being compared to its big brother...

Anyone know how many 2023 CT4BWs and CT5Bws were produced ?

My salesman tried to tell me that my car was #86 of 328 when I bought it, he was telling me how cool that was. I had to tell him, no, I don't think that means what you think it does!

    Media dumps

Agree about the front looking not as good. Saw the PRNDM display, confusing. Not a fan of the new style screens, although I hear some people like them. All in all, happy to have a pre-2025 5BW.

What made you choose a Blackwing and what else did you consider?

I just bought a GR Corolla (2024 "Premium"), and I think it's a fantastic car, just a blast to drive. Love how "real world fast" this car is. Not brutally powerful (especially after getting out of the 5BW), but quick enough to do anything I want to do on the road. Great handling. Puts a...

    Spring mountain- experienced racers?

Factor in a night in Las Vegas, checking out a Golden Knights hockey game, going to Hoover Dam, seeing the Grand Canyon ... that all made it more than worth it for me.

What made you choose a Blackwing and what else did you consider?

Reminds me of the days when anti-lock brakes were still new, not available in many vehicles. The salesmen didn't seem to like me thoroughly testing them at the time, either. :)

    What’s next?

I find it easier to just put my hockey bag in the back seat anyway. Benefits of a 4-door. Easier to get the bag in and out of the back seat than the trunk for sure, since the trunk opening isn't very large for the car the size of the 5BW. Plus it's easier to just throw the sticks in from the...

What made you choose a Blackwing and what else did you consider?

Forgot to mention the BRZ / GR 86, another car I really like. Simple and fun. Would have had it on my list except one of my daughters has one coming soon, so I'll get to drive hers. :)

What made you choose a Blackwing and what else did you consider?

Nice list! My recent analysis was much easier. I'd scratch off half the cars because they don't have manual transmissions. I'd scratch off any BMWs because of the rubbery transmissions, perceived low quality (I owned one, stuff just broke--little stuff and big stuff, all the time--yes, just...

I see a lot of people not liking the sunroof option

Yes. Except replace the "or" with "and" in your sentence.

    Clutch break-in

This feature seems to be showing up on lots of cars with manual transmissions. Also on my Bronco. The car adds some throttle on its own if it senses stalling, if you're close to getting it right. Not so much that you couldn't still stall it if you're way off, though. I actually don't like...

We Received our first 2024 CT5-V Blackwing 20th Anniversary Edition |

I do not agree. Perhaps GM should focus getting their basic paint process right, aligning body panels properly, etc. We've all seen the threads (and seen the issues firsthand on some of our cars). Learn to walk before they try to run. I shudder to think what a GM custom program would spit out.

    CT4-V Blackwing...kind of slow

"Panic" isn't the right word, exactly. I don't disagree with you, the "death of the manual" will be protracted. However... If/when we are truly in the long "last call" phase the cars will become even more difficult to get without markup, super long waits, or other hassles. Hence my rising...

    CT4-V Blackwing...kind of slow

You're not the only one starting to panic, due to the "death" of the MT. I bought the 5BW, added a Bronco with MT as a daily, got one of my daughters to get a GR 86 with an MT, getting a buddy to get a Dark Horse (he's a Ford guy) with the Tremec, and I'm looking at a GR Corolla to add to the...
