I bought my 5BW used with 9700 miles on it. The first thing I discovered after purchase was the steering wheel was not centered. The red band at the top of the steering was left of center when going straight. I immediately had an alignment done at the dealer. Unfortunately, I don't have the...
The C7 Corvettes do not have eBoost brakes or "brake by wire". Brake by Wire is part of the Global B platform (C8 Corvettes and Blackwings). It makes sense that changes in software tuning need to occur if switching from iron rotors and pads to CCBs. There has to be an adjustment of pedal feel...
My previous 2017 Camaro ZL1 had a bad bearing in the supercharger idler pulley. It made a God-awful squealing noise and vibration. So yes, bearings related to the supercharger can be defective and ultimately cause the supercharger to seize. Was your engine making any weird noise before this...
I bought my 2023 5BW from a high-end used car dealer in May. It had 9700 miles when I bought it. The original sticker price was $112K. I paid $96K. The car has every option I would have ordered including the stage 1 & 2 carbon fiber packages. However, it wasn't ordered with the parking option...
If you're averaging 18 mpg per city driving, I suggest you seriously consider the lemon law in your state. I would also call GM Customer Service to register a complaint about gas mileage so they have it on record when you Lemon Law your BW.
No 5BW should be getting more than 13 mpg in the city...
Anyone considering swapping out the stock intake for one with an open airbox should watch this video. GM designs their engines with a closed airbox for a reason.
It's been my experience that most of these open-air boxes don't seal that well to the hood or fender. And many also allow hot engine air to enter from below. I think the main reason they're designed that way is because 99.9% of dyno runs are made with the hood open. An open airbox with the...
I agree with what everyone else has said. But man, I'd have to think long and hard about ordering a 2025 with the factory ceramic brakes option. The brake dust with the iron rotors annoys the hell out of me. I'd give up some carbon fiber for the ceramic brakes.
I'm came to my 5BW from a 2017 m6 ZL1 (not the 1LE). I never noticed the rear-end wiggle under hard acceleration with the stock Goodyear tires that came on the ZL1. It was only after I swapped out the Goodyears for the PS4Ss. I thought maybe it was the softer sidewall of the 4S that...
Well, I traded a 2017 Camaro ZL1 in for my Blackwing. And while the ZL1 didn’t have as much supercharger whine as a Hellcat you could still hear it. As for me, I didn’t find the sound particularly alluring. I expected it on the Camaro since it was considered a muscle/pony car. On my BW, I’m...
I don't get why people want to hear the whine of the supercharger. I prefer to hear the sound of the engine and exhaust. Not what sounds like a thousand bees buzzing around. The car is a luxury sedan and the interior should be isolated from outside noise. I think the Cadillac engineers did a...
I traded a standard M6 ZL1 (not a ZL1 1LE) for my 2023 5BW. The sixth gear in the standard ZL1 was strictly an overdrive gear. It had almost no power. Engine rpm was just under 2000 at 80 mph. To pass anyone at highway speeds required downshifting into 5th gear. My 5BW has a lot more juice...
As long as you love them, that's all that matters. Your car. For me, it's a no. Spike lug nuts don't look right on a Cadillac in my opinion. Now standard lug nuts in blue would look cool with those wheels.
It's seamless on my 2021 C8. However, I drive my Corvette 99% of the time in manual mode so it never activates. My 2021 GMC pickup truck didn't come with the chip for DFM because of the shortage when the truck was built. GM gave me a $50 credit off the price of the truck. Damn nice of them.
You got that right.
A CT5-V BW with manual trans was the only car I was willing to trade my '17 M6 ZL1 in on. I had been looking for about a year and a half for 5BW but everything I found were autos.
I received an email in early May from a local dealership that sells used high-end...
Is the cylinder deactivation just on the 10 spd autos? I've got the manual transmission and there is no cylinder deactivation that I'm aware of.
I know the LT4 has all the hardware for cylinder deactivation but I assumed the 5-BW was like the Camaro ZL1 and it is not activated in the tune.
I have a M6 CT5-V BW and a 2021 C8 Stingray convertible. Guess which one I drive the most? You got it, it's the CT5-V BW. It's a hell of a lot more fun to drive than my C8. No way a C8 Stingray is going to beat a car with a 670 HP supercharged V8, manual transmission, and Cadillac luxury...
It kills me that these cold air intake manufacturers always dyno their open-air box intakes with the hood open and then blather about how great the gains are. I bet if you cut a hole in the lid of the stock air box and dyno'd that with the hood open you probably get similar gains.
It's been my...
