    Anybody running amsoil euro 5w40?

I don’t think you’re going to find a lot of people running anything but the mobile one stuff because it’s the only oil approved by GM for our cars. Personally - For that reason alone I won’t run anything else. Its the only oil they keeps my warranty. And 15psi at idle is less than HALF of what...

Cadillac Smart Driver and Privacy Concerns

That's on you. Personally, I have enough real life boogeymen to deal with to worry about a press release lying to me.

Please read the article. The car is not listening to you. They are using generative AI to respond to your questions, that's it. It even says it right in the article: "The OnStar IVA assists with common inquiries initiated by the non–emergency OnStar blue button push in GM vehicle." You push...

I work in an industry heavily influenced by AI. You are way, WAY more vulnerable talking to a person rather than letting AI answer you. I cannot stress that enough. This is an improvement over talking to a person.

Disabling GM's ability to track my CT5V Blackwing

What they didn’t tell you is when you sign up for onstar you are enrolled. No one here selected a smart driver subscription.

This just talks about responding to questions you ask with generative AI. I see no problem with that.

App is the not the differentiator on tracking you. The paperwork you signed and onstar activation is what does it.

Cadillac Smart Driver and Privacy Concerns

For auto cars you can use it to remote start the car. For manual cars it's mostly just looking at data. I've used it to check fuel level, tire pressures, and even set a geofencing alert for when my car was in the shop getting PPF so I could make sure they weren't joyriding the thing. I actually...

I think one other thing that people should consider is that LN only has the preceding six months worth of data. Turn off smartdriver, hope it stays off, and in six months your record is clean again.

Ha! I was right. NYT does the leg work and car mags just repost and change some wording. https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a60175396/connected-cars-driver-data-tracking-insurance/

Anyone Foul an RR12YS Plug in 7000 miles?

I've owned eight forced induction cars, currently have two, and this is nonsense to me.

The auto-enrollment is puzzling. I turned mine off the day I bought my car and it hasn’t turned itself back on. Multiple updates to the app too.

The NYT article points out that language stating what 3rd party providers receive data from GM ONLY mentions SiriusXM and no one else.

Yeah vettes and camaros both had this blue (but I'm 90% they called it something different even though it was the same) EDIT: Confirmed. Boracay Blue Metallic, and Brilliant Blue Metallic both have the same paint code WA895T

Questions from an overthinking/over prepared engineer impatiently waiting his Ct4-V B.W.

If I didn't get the bronze wheels on my car I would be replacing them with something aftermarket as I don't really like the other options. Totally understandable to grab a set of those nice Apex wheels.

It's a little difficult to photograph accurately but I think these represent them the best. I don't have a ton of good pictures because I just can't seem to get it to show properly.
