I lived in Illinois for 20 years with road salt. The last car I had in Illinois was about 10 years old with body panel rust. Any vehicle over 10 years old seemed to have rust. It seems that brine is even worse than road salt.
For those that park their Blackwings in the winter, is there a way to tell that the roads are salt/brine free?
TXDOT and the city brined our roads last week before a "winter" storm. It turned out to be a ton of rain in our area (.75-1"). I believe the rain washed all the brine off, but haven't...
Speaking of winter. How long does it take to wash/remove brine from the roads? The roads were brined about two days ago for a winter storm. We didn't get any ice/snow, but the rain may have helped wash some of it off (about .75" of rain).
I have a manual, so I'm in the buckle your seatbelt and go (take it easy until it's warm).
Not the A10s, but in my auto truck I wait about 20 seconds. The main reason is that the P->R is smooth after the engine has settled and fluid has pumped through the transmission.
I was able to get it free. I ended up using WD40 to loosen the top clip. There are 3 total clips. The 2 plastic clips came out normal, but the third is metal.
I just got my 4BW and am looking at hardwiring a Uniden R4 and dashcam. I'm trying to get the fuse panel off. I was able to get the two front clips loose, but nothing. I feel like I'm going to break something if apply any more pressure. Is there a trick to get it off?
Just got home from picking up the car (and driving back from Arlington). During my inspection, I found the shipping blocks in place. I asked to not wash the car and they honored it (it was dirty). That being said the paint is a beautiful mess. If you look at the car as you walk up, it looks...
I can give you background on my ordered 4BW. It showed up on Cadillac and the dealer website as in transit in early November. The initial date said November 18, then November 29, then just in transit. The dealer received it on December 17th. Once it shows "In Transit", it could arrive in 7-8...
What's the consensus on the dealer washing the car? They told me they have a laser touchless and use new towels on vehicles.
When I got my 350Z, I told them to leave the plastic wrap on and not wash it.
I don't think the delivery issues are related to just the CT5-V. I have a 4BW that was produced in early October. I was told in early November that it would be delivered on November 8 or 9th. Every week the ETA changes to the next week. It's been sitting for 2 months now in the Lansing lot.
