    Companion to BW

One of the most enjoyable to drive cars around town (and track) I've had the last many years was my '22 BRZ Limited six-speed manual. What a fun and great car. No matter the speed, it was just a joy to drive. I only traded mine because I was getting a C8 Z51 for faster track driving. But...

    Spring Mountain Impressions

One thing I will say as a pretty experienced track driver too is the instructors LIKE to go fast. Me and a buddy (Andi) were put into our own min-sub group and the instructors rotated out of running us out there on lead-follow sessions. They were having fun as Andi and I were pushing the...

    Companion to BW

Yeah, afraid you're right on the thought process for how they approach "truck" engines. I had my Escalade V for a while and it is just comedy on wheels. But a half-ton truck with a nice LT4 or next-gen V8 with maybe a blower or turbos along with the DSSV shocks and bigger brakes would just be...

    Companion to BW

Jas, you have no idea how much I want a FI V8 GM truck, but they won't freaking make one and we all know the L87 unfortunately sucks. Hoping the Gen VI V8 engines are back to snuff. That is the ONLY reason I'm driving a Ford. I've had 3 Fords in my life, a '99 Cobra I had for 3 days (long...

    Companion to BW

The diesel doesn't lack power, I'm talking more the dimensions and weight. It's a big HD truck, so the R is much more agile and faster on and off-road. Both good trucks, just different purposes.

    Companion to BW

Just got back from two days of Raptor Assault in Tooele, Utah with a Raptor R. It's definitely not a poseur truck. The stuff it could do is truly incredible. Now, I'm a different story. I'm mostly a Starbucks and pavement princess cruising kind of guy. :D :D Nice AT4X HD truck! I...

Raptor R is the ticket for a winter sled to drag kids and their stuff around.

    Stupid Loud

I've literally had people jump when I started my '23 Escalade V in parking lots and they are walking near it. I LOVED the exhaust sound, but damn it was loud, especially in V mode. And the pops went on for days on decel. It was great, theatric fun, but honestly, it was a bit much for a stock...

[Rumor] Gen 6 V8's will come in 5.7 and 6.6L

I don't think anyone knows for sure. I'd personally get the LZ0 3.0 Duramax or wait for the next gen V8 engines.

[Rumor] Gen 6 V8's will come in 5.7 and 6.6L

I could totally see a 700+hp 6.6L supercharged motor for the next-gen Blackwing. My concern at that point is traction as the current BW is fairly traction limited in lower gears already. One potentially fix is an ZR1X type set-up with an electric motor/battery at the front axle for motive...

    Carbon ceramics and brake bedding

Hey Jas, yeah, I was a bit more belligerent and ignorant in my youth. :D :D

    Carbon ceramics and brake bedding

You'll never need to burnish your pads unless you are really going at it around town or at a track day. But, if you are doing hooligan stuff around town with multiple speed up and slow downs and you start experiencing significant amount of "brake fade", it's pretty damn scary. Ask me how I...

Next Gen ICE CT5 Officially Confirmed!!!!

Never too soon! Take my money!

Next Gen ICE CT5 Officially Confirmed!!!!

They will have a V8 for the next gen trucks/SUVs and Corvette (maybe Camaro reincarnation?). So, a derivative of a higher performance V8 could easily find it's way into the next-gen CT5. Also, Cadillac is going F1. You think they won't have a high performance model or three? :D
  16. Q

Next Gen ICE CT5 Officially Confirmed!!!!

The LT4 is a derivative of the regular L87 engines. No reason there won’t be forced induction derivatives of the next gen V8.
  17. Q

Next Gen ICE CT5 Officially Confirmed!!!!

I think GM/Cadillac has enough enthusiasts that they will try to push through a next gen Blackwing. GM is still investing in ICE and next gen V8 and they are rolling back their EV ambitions, so I really don't see any reason to NOT have a Blackwing.

Next Gen ICE CT5 Officially Confirmed!!!!

Woohoo!! Next-Generation ICE Cadillac CT5 confirmed for Lansing Grand River Assembly Today, Cadillac will announce that after six strong years, the current generation Cadillac CT4 and CT5 will be retired after model year 2026. The CT4 will continue...

Is it ok to park with engine on for a while?

It's not ideal, but 30 minutes isn't going to hurt anything. These are advanced engines and they are run through hell and back during their development and durability testing. I think they run tanks through them just sitting at idle, etc. among many other torture tests.

    Dealer Deleted PDR recordings

Yeah, it's not even the two mile joyride that likely didn't hurt anything (these cars can take some serious abuse), it's the deception of deleting the video that would piss me off more than anything.
