I believe it was only GM Authority that reported the 5BW wouldn’t be getting the 2024 refresh, so take it with a grain of salt. I personally think they’ll keep producing both BW’s for several years and would be shocked if the 24 5BW didn’t at least get the interior infotainment refresh as that...
Driving a tuned Raptor now with a 5BW on order to add to the stable. I like where this thread is headed, as I also have a problem with leaving things stock!
If I'm pushing a substantial amount of additional power through the engine, then no I don't think it's fair to expect the manufacturer to pay the tab when something blows up as a result.
I don’t get the mentality of heavy modding and trying to hide it from GM. If you’re going to mod to the point that you’re pulling the supercharger and opening the engine, deal with the consequences. My V Coupe put down around 700hp and thankfully I never had any issues, but if I did it was on...
Has anyone confirmed that if the 5BW is showing emissions “ready” in an OBDII tool it’s actually ready to pass the CA smog check? Would be nice to confirm that this works so you’re not blindly driving around and getting multiple smog checks.
I'd love to see the front splitter and front wheel deflectors be slightly more aggressive in size to add a little more character to the 5BW (i.e. ~1/2" further extension all around).
Emissions is a numbers game for GM. A couple hundred BWs equals virtually ZERO difference in their emissions average with hundreds of thousands of other higher MPG vehicles.
I told the nice sales guy that I fully expect at least half of their list to drop as interest rates continue to increase and people’s buying power diminishes with Biden’s inflation.
Just read about the rumored upcoming minor exterior and fairly significant dash/center stack refresh on GM Authority. Not sure why GM wouldn’t include the 5BW in the interior OLED dash update?? Makes absolutely zero sense for their range topper...
Mad is the wrong word, at least for me. More like creating unnecessary angst towards them, because now I hope those ADM dealers lose their ass sitting on overpriced inventory as the tides begin to shift. Neither approach is “healthy”.
I’m mid-500’s at Ciocca and am on the fence right now… my guess is my name will be called in 18-24 months so I may pickup a 5BW soon to hold me over. I suspect I'll like the Cadi too much to swap it out for the non-manual C8Z.
I’m vehemently against paying ADM, especially for an ordered car, but if a LOCAL dealer had one available now that was exactly what I wanted I may pony up a couple extra bucks to get it today versus who knows when.
10%+ ADM is very aggressive in a declining economy though…
IMO you’re crazy if you think GM is going to stop making these anytime soon when they have a massive waiting list even after the ridiculous $7k MSRP bump.
Anyone know what size/location the subwoofers are in the 5BW? Single/dual 10’s mounted in the rear deck? Just assuming they’d use the same 265mm woofer from the Escalade…
They require a $2k paint protection package that rubbed me the wrong way. If I’m spending money on paint protection it’s going to be a real ceramic coating or PPF, not some BS spray-on profit center product.
How can the enthusiasts even get their BW’s (5BW specifically) when the dealers want ADMs and their dealer stock orders are all shit option combos with zero manuals? I’d buy one today if I actually had a dealer willing to deal with me like a normal consumer who’s ready and willing to pay $115k...
