I almost ordered the black wheels for my black 5BW but went with the aluminum ones and I love them. I think they would look awesome on that red 4BW.
flipray - so with the correct shorter front tires, no rubbing either front or rear? Even under hard driving and compressions?
Sorry to see you getting rid of your Blackwing but, as someone lucky enough to have a 5BW 6sp and a 2020 GT350R, I totally understand making that move. The 5BW is amazing amazing amazing but the Voodoo motor alone makes the 350s so much more engaging and exciting. I'm sure you'll come home...
I haven't driven the G80/822 yet but I have driven the F80 M3. I have also driven a 4BW. There is no comparison in terms of which one made me smile more. I think the number of people on this forum coming from M3s. RS6s, etc is telling.
OP - this is further proof of what I have been saying for the last 20+ years: the Germans lost the ability to make truly fun cars. The Americans and Japanese have been making some of the most fun to drive cars, be they Evos or Type Rs or Blackwings or Hellcats or GT350s etc.
Corsa usually guarantees no drone with their systems but the idea that it will be as quiet as OE at a cruise is probably not going to happen. I enjoy a little V8 noise while on the freeway, although I'm the crazy guy who drove a GT350R on a 3k mile road trip and loved every second of it.
I had no idea any auto manufacturers were using aluminized steel for exhausts. I just assumed the BW exhausts were the cheap-ish 409 Stainless Steel, which will corrode/rust unlike 304SS. 409 is very commonly used on OE exhausts.
That's a very good deal. I know they can't give away the high spec IMSA ones (one was offered at 20k off to a friend, who didn't want the matte paint and graphics. They ended up finally selling it for 25k off MSRP to someone else)
Very interesting, thank you for the insights. I loved my '21 CTR but have heard the FL5s ride even rougher, which is saying something! Anyway, congratulations on the 4BW - absolutely amazing cars to drive!
Congratulations! Former CTR owner here, too ('21 that I sold to get my 5BW 6sp). Would love to hear your feedback on the 4BW vs the '23 CTR. I am contemplating both cars if I trade my SUV in.
