    Jacking up your Blackwing

The stealth lift pads. Two floor jacks because the floor jack with the Rennstand top part won’t fit under the car unless the same side front or back is raised a little. I have not tried doing one corner at a time. I do either the front or back together working each side about 3 times...

    Jacking up your Blackwing

I use the Rennstands on my 5BW for 3 years. I use the Castle Pad (18M-P05) with the ZL1 Addons. I put a hard rubber piece inside the castle pad cavity. You need two low profile floor jacks such as the Arcan 3 ton which it what I have. Need to be careful how the wheels on the jack are lined up or...

3.5K to 4K rpm is a good range to shift for normal driving. I don’t like to get below 2K.

    Access to GM Parts Database

Go to the dealer that the car was purchased from and attempt to negotiate price. That worked for me. It did take me 1 year to get the splitter for a 5BW in 2023, but my price was locked in. Keep in mind that many of the online shops add $300 for shipping and dealer does not.

mine works fine, just need to yank that stick. I do often go 2nd to 4th, skipping 3rd.

    Gear grinding

Does it actually grind? Never had that happen even at 20F parked outside overnight. Sure it can take some force, but it’s a big boy car. I’ve had 2nd be difficult after a long highway run when 115F out and transmission got very hot.

    Media dumps

I get the go kart aspect, I've owned 4 RX-7s and an RX-8. The 1st gen RX-7s I could toss around on the street like nothing else I've ever owned. I actually wouldn't mind owning one, if I could find one that wasn't beat to hell. Fact is you don't see many of them on the road anymore. Fact is that...

You must not be old enough when everything American was V8. I still miss cars with front bench seats. Those were some great times.

I agree the 4BW is a better Swiss Army knife car compared to the 5BW. When including factors of cost (street and track), fuel economy, long hauls, spirited street driving, and track. The 5BW really has too much power on hand to tap affectively on the street. Some people say that holds back the...

    CT5-V WTF - melting piston

Yes, I would first go down to the shop (in a different car obviously) and lay out my side of the story and see what they say. I prefer to do such things in person as I can get a better judge of things that way. Depending on that outcome, several routes to take.

    CT5-V WTF - melting piston

I get your point of view. But if they’re going to be offended by a truthful post and retaliate, it’s definitely a shop that doesn’t deserve anyone’s business. That’s assuming that there is not another side to the story?
