Agree with all you say here. Cadillac did an amazing job with these cars IMO....considering that they're weighty modern cars....just about everything else (aside from limited rear seat room in the 4) they did right. My eldest son used to own an NA Miata and it was a hoot. He's planning to buy a...

    Media dumps

Came across this the other day and fully agree with the points this guy makes about what makes a car seem fast and fun. As much as I do enjoy the CT 4 V BW there are aspects to the car that feel somewhat muted to me....sound insulation, size is a bit larger then I prefer, seems slower than it...

All that extreme offroad stuff looks really fun....your Caddy is going to be a total different kind of fun - enjoy! (but try to keep in on the pavement)....

Summer tires in cold weather ?

This is a problem - scarcity of performance snows for these cars. It kind of sucks. Hopefully you can find some. Normally one goes narrower for snow tires...but not 100% necessary I don't think, Good luck!

Summer tires in cold weather ?

While I agree with most all you say here..to me 75% is not 100%....and I really want 110%+....but thats just me. The Alpines are fantastic BTW I agree. But just the other day they came loose a bit in the cold on some twistiys. Of course i normally run in sport PTM so I could have reigned them...

Summer tires in cold weather ?

OK I get it...one could manage with all seasons in non snow areas or if they have alternative transport for snow or cold conditions,,,,but IMO all seasons are a (generally unacceptable) compromise....in all seasons. I'm not aware of any all season tire that grips as well as our OEM PS4 tire in...

Summer tires in cold weather ?

Depends on how you drive...but i think the hit could be a big one. I'm a big believer in snow tires for the winter (if the climate at all warrants it) and summer performance tires for spring summer & fall. As a Blackwing driver (or at least considering one) I would assume you value handling...

Will My New CT4-V Blackwing Make Me Happy or Sad?

I've never driven a Viper but I know that they are very special cars. So I imagine you will be sad giving it up....even if you don't drive it so much. But I think the CT 4 V Blackwing will surprise you WRT how good it is. Is it Viper fast? Probably not...but close enough in real world situations...

Exactly....super nice inside and out. Owner said the engine was a 400....I should have asked to see it. Car was so nice I forgot to take a pic of my BW which was 3 cars back behind him just out of my pictures. I knew there were folks here who would appreciate this car as i did.

Summer tires in cold weather ?

Totally agree....and I have done the exact same - mounted the stock PS4s on (much lighter and great looking) Apex wheels and mounted Alpine snows on the stock wheels. Its a great setup that I highly recommend. The Alpine's are great driving tires for a snow tire in cold weather conditions and no...

Pics of your Blackwing in regular parking spots

Took the car out to lunch with some friends at a very nice Italian restaurant in a little town out in the VA countryside. Nice to get out. Saw this car parked out front and had a nice talk with the owners.

EV Thoughts Thread: cause the old farts did their usual thing

We have a two car garage...but the only car that ever sees the inside is our Mustang (garage kept by us and my godparents - the original owners - since new in 1964). The other side of my garage holds 6 bicycles as well as a mini fridge (beer & beer making supplies). work bench, stacks of wheels...

    CT4BW vs. BMW M2 (F87, 2016-2018)

I had been keeping up with bushings & control arms and such but probably need to do so again. Its really not so bad though....just in comparison to some of the newer sport cars I've driven. I'll look into steering & driveshaft quibos...though have to admit I don't even know what that is. I've...

    Apex Wheels for CT4-V Blackwing

I bought my Apex wheels last year through my wheel/tire shop - Radial Tire in Silver Spring MD (can't recommend them highly enough...aside from being track guys and knowing their stuff they gave me an additional discount on the wheels beyond the Apex sale price). They recommended and installed...

What did you do to your Blackwing today?

Thanks for the concern Bimmerfan. Yeah...trying ordeal and will be a long recovery. But I have amazed my doctors and nurses with the rate of my recovery. I told them I'm a fast healer....but I'm older now....so my claims have been put to the test. I have a deep wound from an abdominal abscess...

    CT4BW vs. BMW M2 (F87, 2016-2018)

Just the other day I vowed to my wife never to sell the ZHP...and thats not the first time I've proclaimed this. To my somewhat surprise she agreed. She loves driving the car (her daily) but 2 years ago was the one saying she wanted a new car which in part spurred my research and interest in...

    CT4BW vs. BMW M2 (F87, 2016-2018)

BimmerFan - like me constantly praising my ZHP (and GTI and prior Audi S4 Avant) we've heard this all before....but appro for the thread and a very nice summary as to why you're not an OG M2 fan....and it all makes sense. I've always had a bit of buyers regret not getting a prior gen M2...
