3,000 miles, rotors warped, GM won't replace

I carry tire warmers in my trunk and use them before I strafe the backroads of AA county. I don’t do burnouts or own new balance shoes or jean shorts with white polo shirt

3,000 miles, rotors warped, GM won't replace

Also if you do some hard driving or burnishing, then come to a complete stop and hold on the brakes while they are hot, you will leave a pad deposit on the rotor that's uneven. You need to drive a few miles with no hard brake usage till the rotor cools a bit.

3,000 miles, rotors warped, GM won't replace

"but the car is babied" Therein lies your problem..........don't baby it. Every time I take my 4BW out I hit over 100 and smash those brakes, my car burns no oil at 7K miles and the brakes do not squeal or get warped. Like I said, if you're just dabbing the brakes here and there you will get...

3,000 miles, rotors warped, GM won't replace

You added more uneven pad deposits and made it worse. Take the rotors off, sand them down, then burnish them again. Do you do lots of city or urban driving? That's going to make pad deposits uneven. I do some hard braking out on the backroads to the point of ABS engaging, I'm at 7k miles and no...

    Media dumps

Gas costs lots more in Europe and they just don’t drive big cars. Gas is also formulated differently and crash tests are different, so it costs a manufacturer quite a bit more to get it certified for sale in Europe. Same for here too though, that’s why Bill Gates and other bought a 959 911 when...

    Modern Spare experience?

I used one of their kits on my GT350 that I had. It was well made and all the pieces did their function. It came with the spacers too. The tire was a Pirelli. I’d say it’s a buy if you drive in places with no cell coverage or tow service.

CT4-V Disappointed after lengthy Test drive

If you drive the 4Bw in touring mode. It’s a pretty sedate sedan. Go to my mode and use the slider control to give better throttle response. Or go to V mode, max out all the settings for throttle, brakes, suspension, steering, PTM and exhaust, and you’ll go, whoaa. The sales guy won’t do it for...

T-Boned a Red Light Runner in my 5BW 😠 Adios collectible value

Insurance company will probably just pay out the market value based on comparable cars. But you can do your own research and come up with that number too. At least ask to see how they came up with it.

    AFM or DFM ?

Auto off was used to lower fuel consumption and get a higher MPG fleet ratings for car manufacturers. It had nothing to do with gas guzzler tax.

CT5-V Default "Mode" when Starting car

No. It will start in the mode it was when you turned it off. Except V mode. If you’re in V mode and turn it off, I think it’ll be in sports mode on next start. I like this, past cars like my. 350 and 911s always started in normal mode, regardless of the mode when you turned it off

    AFM or DFM ?

Nope. No auto engine off at stop either

Sounds like it’s wanting to be a diesel! My GT350 did that, bad enough I got a new motor after only 6 K miles

    Z06 to CT5V BW

New C8 Z06 has a stop sale order on them right now. Too many gas station fires when filling.

    Z06 to CT5V BW

Well if you get a 5 BW get one with the precision package. Or if you want better handling with less weight get a 4 BW. Google the reviews of a 5 BW with the precision package. If I was going to move up from a 4 BW that’s what I’d get. I’d fancy a 992 GT3 too, but that’s over 200k. From having...

A true hand welded full seam chassis would be nice.

Is the CT4V Blackwing fun at legal-ish speeds

Had my 4BW up to 150 MPH.......felt fine. No chassis lift or anything. That's with the regular aero. With the full carbon aero, NOO problems.

    Rear Diff Fluid

I think you can run either one. One is better for track usage but I don’t remember which one. Go look at the Tremec website
