You should definitely show the manager. He will want to know that his employees are F-ups. You should do this to reduce the chance of it happening to other customers in the future. I would not request any compensation, however a good manager will offer you something to keep your business.
Congrats on the impending CT5-V. Sorry about the SS. Great car and the kind that GM should have made more like. Post some pics of the SS if you have them.
I am replacing the pads (likely in about a month after my last track days this year). Since I track the car my experience is not applicable to people who just trundle around town.
I am expecting to get about around 6-7 track days on a set of front pads. Depends on which tracks I visit as some...
In case anyone is searching for the CCB front brake pads, GM has an updated part number.
Old: 85143795
New: 86804586
Still made by Pagid. You can tell them apart by the numbers on the back. Old pads are N22 and new pads are N23. Price has just about doubled.
I cut down a large square puck (see right side of first pic). That was necessary as the space I am using for the lift location is tight (see second and third pics). Last pic shows how it looks from the side. You will need to use the large QJ lift block and turn it 90 degrees so it will not...
I use the 6000TLX with my 5BW. My other car is too small for the 6000ELX and I wanted a single jacking solution.
For the 5BW, I am using a different jacking point on the rear instead of the pinch welds. Definitely not a GM approved lift point but it seems strong enough. Had the car up a few...
Precision Package is wife approved. She hated the ride in my GT350 and my Golf R. 4k miles (in Tour Mode) with her in the passenger seat. Zero complaints about the Precision Package Blackwing.
I am at Area 27 in BC, Canada for a couple of track days with the Audi Club (Pacific Northwest Chapter). Area 27 must be where GM does their Corvette and Blackwing track days as the had a bunch of C8 and Blackwings all decked out and ready to go (other than needing a good wash). About half the...
I spoke to a guy at my last track day who had a GT3 RS. He said it was a beast on track. But he was trailering it as he had a 2h drive to the track and found the ride too punishing on the street.
Anyone know the paint codex for the calipers? Specifically the blue calipers. It looks like a rock got stuck between the rim and the caller and left a nice set of ugly scratches along the top part of the caliper. It can only be seen with the wheel off but I know it is there and would like to...
The 5BW does a good job of masking its weight. It accelerates and corners like a much lighter car. As far as size, it does not do as good of a job. The turning circle of the car is horrendous. So you notice it in every parking lot. At least I do. But I am used to smaller cars and not hulking...
Curated by Cadillac looks awesome for those who really want a unique car and are willing to pay for it.
Sort of relevant to that, here are the 2024 CT5-V Blackwing Special Edition colors.
It is tough when you get into a bad headspace. Just try to get into ‘the zone’ where you are just enjoying the driving experience like you do on the backroads. Keeps your eyes up and your head free of negative thoughts.
Car looks great. Love Typhoon green. If you had spec’d the Parking Package and PDR on the 2025, then the price of the 2026 was a nice surprise.
Regarding the calipers and the Precision Package, the choice of a caliper color is free and also mandatory. So while non-PP can be had with grey...
My car has been hooked up to a battery tender for days and the update still failed. So the battery may be one of the causes, but it probably is not the only one.
Diff fluid is a good idea but GM does not require a break-in service for it unless you plan on tracking the car.
My car direct from the factory had a terrible alignment. Not surprised yours does as well.
Car looks great!
Yeah that did not happen after driving more than 30min after being stationary for days. So either the sensors I bought do not work with the 2025 or the automatic learning process does not work.
