Absolute Dearth of All-Season Tires for CT5-V Blackwing

There are no rear OEM sized A/S tires for the 5BW. (There is for the front.) But there are still options available if you're willing try a 325 in the rear with a spacer. It looks a little strange bc the wider tire in the rear makes the rear look REALLY wide. I didn't like it at first but it's...

What did you do to your Blackwing today?

You can't tell by looking at her but I installed the Soler Performance Bluetooth Throttle Controller today. It really "livens up" the throttle response with so many more options than OEM. In addition, I can deactivate the throttle pedal as a theft deterrant when the vehicle is parked. The photo...

    Attempted Theft in Austin

Reply from Soler: Hi Sonny, Thank you for reaching out. We do offer a throttle controller for your CT5-V. It's actually the same exact one you bought for your Corvette the SEO525. Here is the link for it. SE0525-TC DLX Bluetooth® Throttle Controller: Corvette 7/8, Camaro 6, Cadillac CTS 3 &...

    Tire fitment

As posted on a previous thread, I did the same thing: Michelin Pilot All Sport AS4 325/30/19 in the rear on OEM wheels with 6mm spacers. No rubbing at all of the fender. The inside edge of the tire sometimes just barely touches the fender liner -- but just barely & only under severe loading.

    Attempted Theft in Austin

I installed a Soler Performance Bluetooth Throttle Controller on my C8. The bonus for this controller is I can deactivate the throttle pedal from responding to inputs as a theft deterrant. In other words, when deactivated, press down the accelerator all you want with the vehicle started & it...

What did you do to your Blackwing today?

Two words for you: Flyin Miata I knew them even before Bill & Teri Cardell started FM when it was still known as The Dealer Alternative in West Orange, NJ. It was the year I met them that they moved to Colorado. When I had my NA Miata, I essentially had the entire FM catalogue installed in her...

Pics of your Blackwing in regular parking spots

I moved south of the Mason-Dixon Line to get away from the 4-letter S-word! 🤬

Towing / Trailering Tie Down Points/ Methods / Lessons Learned

I don't have any photos when I towed my 5BW or C8 to VIR & CMP but I used: Tie down straps on the front wheels (like a tire net but without the expense of a tire net -- see attached example). You'll need to find tie down points on the side of the trailer or underneath. The trailer I rented had...

    Motorcycles, anyone?

Don't get me wrong -- I don't hate on bikers. I've just seen/heard about too many bikers getting seriously injured/killed (including a coworker & another was good friend) through no fualt of their own. Granted, there's accepting & mitigating risk in anything that one does. (Eg, is driving on the...

CT5-V Sun Visor Warning Label Cover

Thanks for the informative instructions! Even though there is minor residual still on the visor, I agree -- it looks 1000% better than the warning sticker. I'm gonna have to try your method with a heat gun bc I like the clean look over a covering sticker. Did you remove the visor or just left...

    Motorcycles, anyone?

Don't get me wrong -- I think motorcycles are great. (I'd own one except I know I'd be mortally injured in no time flat.) Rarely is it the rider's fault when something bad happens. Moreover, the margin for error to escape major injury is so very small. I've just seen too much badness both...

    Motorcycles, anyone?

There's a reason why, we in the front-line medical field, call them donor-cycles. If you've been this lucky thus far, I wouldn't push it any further. Distracted drivers are getting worse & more plentiful. Don't become a statistic.

CT5-V Sun Visor Warning Label Cover

Anyone know if there's a stick on to cover up the warning labels on the sun visors? I find those things to be so ugly. I've ordered them from FleaBay for the C8 but doesn't look like anyone (not even Savage) makes them for the CT5. If I can't find them to purchase, I might have to DIY something.

    CT5-V CT5V Blackwing Winter Storage

I really feel for you guys/gals that have to do this. Especially with the Michelin AS tires I just installed, I'll be driving Pegasus all winter long in North Cackalacky. If we get even an inch of snow here in Raleigh, it'll be snowpocalypse and I'll probably have to drive my F-150 for a day...

    2025 M5 vs. 2025 CT5-V BW

Caddy made the CTS-V Wagon in 2011-2014. There were ~2000 sold. In a straight line, the automatic tranny version was (slightly) faster than than the coupe or the sedan bc of its shape. I think there were <400 MT versions sold. I saw one at a track event at VIR in 2013 driven by a Novice student...

    2025 M5 vs. 2025 CT5-V BW

When I'm driving, I don't see what the exterior of the vehicle looks like. I'm just enjoying the visceral experience. The interior touch surfaces are acceptable & the seats are comfortable enough for me. I don't really care what she looks like from the outside. Yes, I'm into her personality &...

    Software update letter from Cadillac?

Weird. I got the letter for my C8 but not the 5BW (yet). I had the C8 in for the recall a few weeks ago.

Multi-topic thread on retirement and second car

Any interest in competitive shooting or just learning to handle/use a firearm? Triangle Shooting Academy is a great place to try out shooting. They have rental weapons & the ppl there are knowledgeable & friendly. As for a replacement for the C6 for track duty, I think the BRZ/FRS is a great...
