    Kill switch in 2026

So, for this to work, all of the following needs to be done: Since the rule making is focused on car technology, your phone has to be able to connect to these yet-undecided car technologies to get the information the so-called AI needs to make its decision. So, Apple and Google have to add...

    Kill switch in 2026

This is the kind of comment I'm talking about. There is no current technology, the point of the law is to direct the NHTSA make rules about creating the technology. And it can't be what most people think of when saying the words AI, as that would require your car to maintain a live data...

    Kill switch in 2026

I didn't say it wasn't a kill switch and I don't want one on my car, but I also think worrying about some random person in a federal office is going to personally see you doing something and remote power off your car is fear-mongering. The hacking risk from privateers is more reasonable concern.

    Kill switch in 2026

This is all hyperbole. The actual rule is specified to equip cars with system to cut ignition if the car detects the driver is impaired or distracted (think: interlock systems installed on cars owned by people convicted of DUI) using some currently undecided technology. There is no remote...

Laguna Seca in a CT4-B Blackwing

If you're going to get anything to practice, it should be iRacing as the tracks are more accurate and pedals/wheels are the intended primary/only input device. Plus, its got the 2nd gen CTS-V race car. It's a bigger upfront cost, though.

Laguna Seca in a CT4-B Blackwing

My only track experience is iRacing (vestibular issues), but the corkscrew at Laguna Seca has got to be near the top of "what was I thinking" list. Turn left and hope the track surface is still there...

Engine part numbers 12719861 vs 12719862 for LF4

Based on the pictures, there's more differences than just inclusion of the supercharger.

Engine part numbers 12719861 vs 12719862 for LF4

It's the long block only, not a complete motor. The crate LT4 is $17K. LT4 MY22 Wet Sump Crate Engine - 650 HP / 650 TQ

    Winter Storage

I use the connection points under the hood. My C7 charger goes to the 12V port in the hatch.

You might be able to use a map file from this thread.

    Is it a toy?

There is no general consensus because there is no right and wrong answer. Don't judge people for how they use their cars.

Changing oil from 5-30 to Supercar 0-40?

It's not confusing. The FAQ specifically refers to cars that come with LT1 and LT4 engines, which the 4BW doesn't.

    Winter Storage

The procedure I do for my Z06 is 1. Add fuel stabilizer to empty tank when filling up. 2. Drive until 1/4 tank left (specific to Z06 re: issues with fuel sending sensors). 3. Wash/detail car. 4. Inflate tires to placard pressure. 5. Plug in battery tender. 6. Cover 7. Cry until Spring. During...

What "don't" you like about your BW"?

I'm the opposite. I prefer using the center dial over the touch screen.

My temp doesn't come up quickly

This might be a dumb question, but are you sure you are comparing coolant to coolant temperatures, and not coolant to oil temperatures? I don't know what the default settings are for the dashboard layout, but I have mine configured to show oil temperature in the left-side grid as coolant...

Changing oil from 5-30 to Supercar 0-40?

There seems to be a lot of confusion on 4BW oil, I think because most attention is really on the 5BW. Anytime you see reference to the Supercar 0W-40, you should assume its in reference to the 5BW only.

    Road noise

Yes, you could get a 20" wheel option on the non-Blackwing V, I remember this option when I tried ordering one. They are all-season run-flats and I'd guess you are hearing road noise. First things to check are proper inflation and alignment. The V is not a luxury-only Cadillac (it has some...

    Seat Belt Chime Disable

Being unbelted and hitting the airbag seems like a great way to break your neck. The airbag relies on the seat belt to keep you in proper alignment.
