    Blackwings and Watches

That is a mystery I've never solved - why pay extra for gold that looks just like cheaper steel models ? Same for platinum, although even bigger $$$ gap I presume.

Did you do or are doing V academy

I hate to point out the obvious, but this thread is our testament to how great SM is: https://www.cadillacvnet.com/forums/threads/spring-mountain-impressions.3491/

Has anyone owned both 4vBW and 5vBW?

Range is not something you hear about non-EVs. :) The small gas tank and huge turning radius are the only things that annoy me about this great car. My 5 is atrocious in the city. It will only go about 200 miles on a tank. But on a road trip i can do 300 or more. Amazing difference. I would...

Long term reliability of the 5BW LT4 unmodified

Yeah, those OEM brake pads were amazing. When they did finally go, I actually bought the exact same pads from the dealer.

Long term reliability of the 5BW LT4 unmodified

Loads of questions like that. A search should bring them up. I wouldn't worry. The Chevy LS V8 is one of the best selling engines of all time. There will always be parts for it. Someone has already replaced their magnaride struts and shocks, and they were much cheaper than I expected. That's...

    Blackwings and Watches

Unfortunately, I failed to instill my values to the kids. Nobody wants my cars or bikes, and I can't even get them to wear a nice watch. Guns.........perhaps we'll see........... $$$ value ? Once EVs make gasoline no longer ubiquitously available, I think ICE toys will be relegated to museum...

    Blackwings and Watches

Congratulations !! I have been fascinated with mechanical watches since I was a kid. It is interesting to find an entire sub-culture on the internet for whatever hobby you can think of - and that you had no idea such a sub-culture existed. There are lots of places you can find people buying...

    Patch this tire or replace?

Discount Tire used to do that type of repair for free. Take them up on it if they still do.

Does A Radar Detector Help Anymore?

I drive fast, but I have admittedly been lucky. Long ago I used radar detectors, but they usually just confirmed that I had just been nabbed. I gave up on them a very long time ago. Here in Austin, the local PD had quite a run on me for years. The trick there was to take the case to a jury...

    best exhaust without tune

Here's my write-up: https://www.cadillacvnet.com/forums/threads/custom-exhaust-finally-done.3903/ Local shops can simply replace the muffler, or remove altogether for a tiny fraction of what a packaged "cat-back" system costs. Sound is better too. Having said that, I will get the Kooks...

    What would you do?

Dude, You should've smoked him. I gave a model 3 a lesson the other day. I was shocked it could nearly keep up. You have to take advantage of these rare situations where you encounter someone else who is actually driving instead of pushing their head further up their phone in blithering oblivion.

CT4-V Blackwing Manual Transmission Engine Revving

Its a glitch where rev match does its thing even though its off. I had it happen a handful of times early on, but can't remember having it happen recently. However, I have grown to love rev match, so I usually have it on now if I can remember to turn it on.

CT5-V Upcoming After Market Exhausts for CT5 BW

Good luck !! Keep us posted. I think Kooks still sells theirs, but choice is always nice.

CT5-V Upcoming After Market Exhausts for CT5 BW

That's interesting from Concept 841. Their web site only has C6 parts. Not even other Corvette parts !! https://concept841.com/collections/all

    Concave/Deep Dish wheels

Are you looking for something with a lip around the outside rather than the style like stock, and most of Vossen's other wheels, where the spokes are flush with the very outside edge of the rim ? https://vossenwheels.com/wheel/gen-03-3-piece/

General Advice for First Time 5BW Owners

Congratulations !! Spring Mountain is an absolute must. Everyone has had a fantastic experience, and you not only learn about high performance driving, you learn tons about all the car's settings/functions. They showed me how you have to hold the traction control button down for a full 8...

    CT4-V 4BW to C8, tempted

How could @savethemanual consider a car with 2 pedals ?!?!? Factory Five just announced a new generation of their Cobra kit: https://www.factoryfive.com/roadster/mk5/ That would be the perfect vessel for the Z06 engine. And with 3 proper pedals. :)

CT5V BW Cold Start Exhaust Sound

Thankfully I don't commute in mine, so I don't worry so much. I already warned my neighbor that "Fast & Loud" was continuing - 1st the Harley, then the Ducati, and now the Cadillac. :)

CT5V BW Cold Start Exhaust Sound

But we still get a tiny % of the cold-start throttle that 'Vettes and Camaros get. They sound WAY better on start-up regardless of the mode your BW is in.

Multi-topic thread on retirement and second car

@BimmerFan - looks like you're in exclusive company buying a new Supra. I just ready an article that says only 2,615 of them sold in 2024. But the good news - 2 out of 3 of them opted for the 6-speed manual. :) Those are scarily low sales figures. That's not good news for such a great example...
