You mention ZL1 and Z06 failures at low miles - have there been more failures at higher miles, like 10k, 20k, 40k, 60k? Just wondering if it's something where if you make it past say 5k-10k miles, you should be good?
I just got my '23, so not eager to pay $9k in sales tax again for a mild update. However, if they make them through MY25 or MY26 I might pick one up to restart the odometer at 0 since that will truly be the last of the ICE manual super sedans.
Based on the other updated Cadillac interiors, I do...
I'm at 2 weeks and 400 miles. Let's call this the initial pre-break-in list.
Turning radius is pitiful. Constant annoyance when parking and maneuvering. Thank goodness for all the awesome cameras.
No option for audible blind spot alert. Most cars make a sound or at least have that option, but...
Sometimes they dumb things down so people don't get frustrated. Good example: My 2001 M5 was the first car with the super cool (at the time) variable redline that started at 4k rpm when cold and gradually opened up to the 7k redline as the engine got warm. Trouble is, they linked it to water...
Approaching 500 miles on mine (woohoo!!!) and am still unsure of when I should change the oil. 500 miles? 1,500 miles? Both? The owner's manual says neither but I plan on keeping this thing for a very long time so wondering what is best.
Nice Chrome Orange! Granted I've had my 5BW less than a week, but I really think I'll have the Elise and 5BW for at least 10 years. They complement each other so well, they're such great driver's cars, and nothing like them will be made ever again.
Took delivery today! Only got to drive it a few miles today but what a car!!! Incredibly excited, and it's already exceeded my expectations in many ways.
My E39 M5 was my favorite car I've owned - I was hoping this would be much the same, but with 20+ years of improvements. That's exactly what...
I always wondered how this type of negotiation works. Is it just you saying "no" over and over and over and over and over and over again until they give a sheepish, "ok fine"?
I'm getting Xpel's PPF and Fusion ceramic applied to my new 5BW next week before it's delivered to me! I had not heard of Xpel's ceramic product before, but in researching it seems like a very good one. Looking forward to it as I have never had PPF (except my Lotus Elise's factory "Starshield"...
Thanks! Although it was the most problematic car I've owned, it has also been my favorite, and really inspired me to go for the 5BW which is the modern equivalent.
Having 45% on sides/back done to my BW next week. I know 45% is high, but I actually don't love the too-dark look (inside or out) and want to highlight the Sky Cool Gray seats as well.
It's the first time I've actually put tint on any car - did it for heat rejection, the fact I have Rift on Sky...
Xpel Dallas. Seems Xpel's PPF, ceramic, and tint products are all quite good, and the installer has good reviews (they're the shop that Sewell uses for PPF).
