Alarm goes off for no reason.

It's very complicated: You press the Unlock button, and the car unlocks. :) Seriously, once you disable the fob the way I described, you're only disabling the remote sensing/broadcasting capability of the fob. The key fob still works like a normal remote fob, in which you have to manually...

Alarm goes off for no reason.

If that's the case then I give up. But that's not my understanding (I could very well be wrong).

Alarm goes off for no reason.

Yes, and? Similarly, a Faraday pouch only "disables" the key that's in it. I'm not following your comment. What other key fob would you want to disable?

Alarm goes off for no reason.

With regard to traveling... Toyota does something that I wish other manufacturers would do. They have a simple button press sequence (press and hold Lock, then press Unlock twice while Lock still held, look for fob to flash four times) that disables the key, no need for Faraday pouch. Wish...

Of course. Is this not standard procedure nowadays?

    Media dumps

It's an indication of *past* designs, apparently. From the article: When you look at the front corners, you see the '22-24 5BW. The '25 design has already moved away from this. Look at the split in the vertical light bar. Also, I second the comment that it needs a MT. Not matter how nice...

Pics of your Blackwing in regular parking spots

It was HOT these past few days in the Atlanta area. Mid 90s at least and humid yesterday. This is me after circling the lot, trying to find *any* shade possible, as well as finding a spot away from other cars.

    Used Value Trend

"Alternative" doesn't seem like quite the right word to me. "Complement" seems so much better. Enjoy each type of vehicle for what it is. I love manual transmission vehicles and love different types of vehicles. Hence the 5BW, GR Corolla, GR 86 (my daughter's car), Bronco, various...

Pics of your Blackwing in regular parking spots

In this situation I'd back in. You get close, show some solidarity with another BW, keep a gap to the third spot, and open your driver's side door to the other side.

    New Member - CT4V Blackwing

I came from an '09 335i (2-dr, manual) with all the usual mods, approx. 450 hp. Not directly from the Bimmer to the Blackwing, there was a gap of a year or two. Same feeling, though, not a day goes by that I miss it! It was fun, but forgettable.

What's the best setup for two drivers using one key?

I can't be the only one wondering: What's the problem with using both keys? Hang both on the shelf by the door, with different keychains or other identifying means. Isn't that what they're for?? This sounds like a trick question. What am I missing?

Post your Black Raven Blackwing Photos

I'm sure I've posted these before, but not in this thread. Both in some of the car's natural habitats.

CT4-V What to get after blackwing? <55K USD

+1 to the Bronco. Go test drive one at least, just for fun. I've owned a 2-dr Bronco, manual transmission, Black Diamond trim level (didn't see any need for Badlands in my case) for a few years now. Love it, Ford got a lot right in the design (we'll see about reliability). Drove it from...

CT4-V What to get after blackwing? <55K USD

Don't forget the terrible automatic transmission that makes it painful to drive. Unacceptable for someone with your screen name ("savethemanual"). Will probably hold its value well, though, I agree, due to that V8 that they won't keep around for much longer. GR Corolla, something like $40k...

Dealers That Are Not Charging Above MSRP

I just happened to pick up my '24 GR Corolla (premium) on December 31, 2023 this way. Tracked dealer stock, knew which dealers had one. Wandered in, just to see how motivated they might be, didn't need the car. Ended up striking a deal. :)

What did you do to your Blackwing today?

I don't believe that's why people buy the CCBs. I don't remember anyone thinking or saying CCBs would stop the car faster, and Cadillac seemed very proud of the steel brakes' ability to withstand track use (not overheat). Reducing unsprung weight is the main benefit. I'd be more interested in...

Does your BW go fully into every gear when the engine is off?

No comment on going into gear with engine off, but... What's this about your "previous car"? The goal is to keep the Bronco for the winters (I see you're in Boston) and add the BW for fun!

How much oil to add when it’s on the bottom mark of the dipstick for the 4 BW?

Now you're going to make all the neurotic people on this forum go check their oil level. I'll be right back... ;)
