Well it happened, not the order but I am officially in a Blackwing. I wanted to test drive a new one in person because the two I drove previously were pre owned and there was a lot to absorb so I just wanted to make 100% sure I was making the right choice. A side benefit was going to be placing...
Is this something we get invited to via email or are we supposed to be on the lookout somewhere and register once posted? I did not receive any info from dealer about this.
This is my first car in 8 years that doesn’t have a sunroof. If I were ordering I would have optioned it. I agree with what others have said regarding the looks and weight, but I’ve personally never had an issue stemming from a sunroof. To me I could find differences in the flow of air and...
This is exactly why I picked up a lightly specced BW with an MSRP of $67K. I had to give up some things I wanted (upgraded seats, sunroof) but when I looked at the inventory of what was within a reasonable driving distance most cars were $75K +. I didn’t want to sit around and wait as nobody had...
Isn’t there quite a bit more that’s different other than the engine between a V and a Blackwing? The entire drivetrain is different as I understand it, along with cooling, brakes, etc. You also can’t get a V in a MT. I don’t think this parallels what the OP was getting at, which is that you can...
I’m learning this platform so can’t answer about the LF4 but you asked in general about turbo engines. My Focus RS which I drove from new for about 36K miles never burned oil and it was a turbo 4 cyl 2.3l and saw 5-6 track events.
I did full front PPF and got the windows tinted. Full front PPF was $1,600 and absolutely necessary where I live and my commute on the interstate, otherwise the car would be littered with rock chips. I’ll do this on every new car now going forward, learned my lesson the hard way.
How fast a car "feels" is very subjective and relative, and only you can answer if it "feels" slow to you. To me, the 4BW is plenty fast for the street, and felt every bit as fast as my CLA 45 AMG.
Objectively, the car is competitive in straight line speed with its competitors. I wouldn't...
I bought yesterday and can confirm this. I wasn’t able to take advantage of the .9 but I did 3.9 for 5 years which I’m happy with. It was 4.9 for 6. The shorter the term the better the rate.
Picked mine up today. This is not a color I was anticipating ending up with. When I initially started looking I think I told the dealer that this was a color I did not want. This was based on the configurator photos which I think make it look like a grandpa color. I actually placed an order for...
I wouldn’t use Cadillac dealer trade in value as a lone data point. In my experience Cadillac dealers have been on the wrong side of fair with trade in. I have a 2022 CLA 45 AMG that I bought new off the lot less than one year ago, it only has 6K miles and was ~$72K MSRP and I have been offered...
How do you like them? How do they perform on track? Do you wish you had the upgraded seats? Anyone who has had both that can comment on the differences I would appreciate your feedback. I’m shopping for a 4 BW and found one I like but it has the base seats. This car will primarily be a DD but I...
I went with the Michelin Alpin PA4, 265/35/18 in the rear and 255/35/18 up front. I’ve used these tires in the past on my Focus RS and CLA 45 AMG and they are a fantastic winter performance tire and also do well in the snow (on those platforms). I ordered through fitment industries, the rears...
I received confirmation the dealer does NOT have an allocation, but I am first on the list. I don’t want to thread jack, is there another thread on orders and allocations? I’m curious if there is any more info out there on how/when dealers get allocations. They have sold a 4 BW recently. My...
Do you have first hand experience with this in your line of work? I’m genuinely curious, I’m not in the industry but I have been pretty active in various car forums over the years. While I have personally only tuned one of my vehicles, I have read a lot of information across various platforms...
My understanding is the fact that a vehicle is tuned does not automatically void the warranty. The manufacturer has to prove that the tune (or modification) caused the part in question to fail to deny the warranty coverage.
Also each platform is very different with respect to built in...
