My first fun car was a 1995 Ford Taurus SHO with a 5 speed manual (my second car and first manual). The engine was a V6 made by Yamaha and it had a set of intake runners where valves would open around 4K rpms. It was Americas swing at the Germans.
It was fun to drive, comfortable, and nobody...
There are too many variables with 0-60 for anything to be reliable/credible. If you really want to measure the difference of the tune you would be better off measuring 80-120mph with a dragy or something similar.
Seems too good to be true, especially for a 24 that isn’t even on the lot yet. My guess is it’s an honest mistake or a BS sales tactic to get a bunch of inquiries on the vehicle. A potential killer deal for someone though if true.
Guys come on. Maybe more financial management is one thing that is true but the rest is BS. What is the alternative here? Imagine actually being poor and not having a car to get from point a to point b. No money for an Uber or taxi. If you could afford the bus, you still have to coordinate...
Yes. The 4BW does the best “Jeckyll and Hyde” of any vehicle I have driven. Loud and rowdy when you ask it, refined and quiet when you don’t. The 4BW is very comfortable and quiet when you are cruising around in tour mode or with suspension and exhaust at lowest settings. The only road noise I...
I have had the Michelin X Ice 255 on all 4 corners for about a month now. They fit fine and do well in the snow, but don’t match the playfulness of the car when it is dry/cold. Under hard acceleration you can feel the rear tires squirm and struggle for grip.
I wanted the Alpin 4s in 265 in the...
This isn’t really accurate. M2, M3, M4 are all in-line 6. RS3 is a 5. RS5 is a 6. RS6, RS7 are V8, as is an M5. E63 AMG is also a V8. The CLA 45 AMG and briefly the C 63 AMG were 4 cyl. Most of the German brands that compete with the Blackwing 4 or 5 are actually not a 4 cyl.
If you are...
This is a great deal I would be all over it and I wouldn’t worry about squabbling over the $650 charge when you are getting that much off a non IMSA ‘24.
Since these cars are competitors and I traded in my CLA 45 AMG for my CT4 V Blackwing I thought it might help others to see a comparison thread if anyone is cross shopping these vehicles or just curious. This post will serve in part as a comparison and also my review of the Blackwing. I owned...
Nice, the RS was a great car and I think the Blackwing is an excellent upgrade that keeps a lot of the same great fun/feel the RS had, with a significant improvement in ride quality. I wish I could have kept the RS but have no regrets with the Blackwing.
For me it depends on many factors including the exterior color of the car, color of the calipers and to a lesser degree, interior color. I think the bronze limits the options as I would only want to do white or black exterior with those wheels and wouldn’t do red or blue for calipers. Black and...
I second the comment about driving a used one. Then you can hammer on it and not feel as bad. Try autotempest.com they gather all the used car sites for one comprehensive search.
I can’t listen to the sound right now but have you tried driving with you key in your pocket v the designated key area? The only buzzing sound I noticed was also under acceleration and it was coming from the key ring when the key was in the holder. I took the ring off the key and the problem is...
I can confirm this does not exist in my car. To test the theory I shifted into 2nd from N at a dead stop and no issues. Then I also successfully shifted from 1st to 2nd after fully releasing the clutch and no gas going about 5mph and no issues.
How low of RPM? I haven’t heard of this before and haven’t noticed it. I have to use some more force going into 2nd but once warmed up it gets much better.
You shouldn’t be paying MSRP for a 24 4BW, even better deals should be available for 23. If the dealer is trying to hold you at MSRP on a 23 I would contact a different dealer.
I have an ND Miata as a second car and I love it. It’s really hard to beat from a driving enjoyment and value perspective. I picked mine up for $31K brand new ~3 years ago and much better deals can be had on used ones now that the market is back to earth. It’s fun to drive normally and I average...
Ha! Small world. It isn’t the way I would have specced it but everything I thought I wouldn’t like (base seats, color, no sunroof) is growing on me. I’m glad it worked out for the both of us!
