No, but those are tempting and nice find. Those are the top tier seats, mid tier looks similar but alcantara/cloth insert instead of leather. Looks like this:
I called Cadillac parts department and they said they can only order parts of the seats to assemble, which they won’t build a full seat and install it. They said my best bet was to find the mid-tier seats from a parted out 4 BW and it should just swap over. I posted in the wanted to buy section...
Hi All,
Looking to buy the mid-tier bucket seats for a CT4V Blackwing. Called Cadillac and they said they don’t sell them and best bet would be to buy them from a parted out car.
Why not just buy a set of dedicated winter performance tires for the winter? You are doing yourself and your car a disservice by running all seasons, which won’t perform as well in the winter as a winter performance tire or as well as OEM in the summer. These are obviously high performance...
If you are interested in the manual and deciding between the two… get the manual.
I owned manuals for 17 years, last year decided to get an automatic CLA 45 AMG and traded it in less than a year after ownership because I got bored with it.
The Tremec 6 speed in the 4 Blackwing is fantastic...
882lbs from the battery and I’m guessing the rest is from the increased size as the car got bigger.
From Car and Driver “the M5 has grown 1.2 inches longer overall, 2.7 inches wider, and 2.1 inches taller. Its wheelbase is also stretched by 0.9 inch.”...
Time will tell how it performs on the track. This car is over 1,000 lbs heavier than the outgoing version. I’m not sure how many 5K+ lb cars are designed and tested at the track. Could it put up impressive numbers for a lap or two? Probably. But how would it manage a 20 min + session? Not so...
It’s on Cadillacs website so seems legit. This is probably my favorite design and color combo of all the special editions. It’s limited to 101 for the 5 and 50 for the 4, so likely to have even more markup than the track editions.
Agreed. The Miata is an excellent drivers car and is widely recognized as such. The first difficult decision I have to make each day is which car I want to drive to work, the Miata or the Blackwing. Both cars are excellent but offer different experiences. Depending on each individual’s...
Agreed. Over the past decade or so I would always look at and fantasize about new cars coming to market, whether it be watching YouTube reviews or looking at Car and Driver. Now everything is a boring EV or SUV. All of the fun exciting vehicles have really died off with the exception of a few...
Back on topic.. the 4BW gets a lot of praise. Without all of the automotive journalists raving about it, and it winning Car and Driver every year it has been out, I would not have looked into one. It was just like my Miata experience, I was never really interested but everyone just kept talking...
Interestingly the first Blackwing I test drove was at a Subaru dealership. I asked the sales rep if he knew why the prior owner traded it in, and he said it was too much car for the little pussy. Apparently Blackwings are good at scaring people into Subarus.
I don’t know anything about that...
Unless you are getting a true sports car I wouldn’t entertain anything else. Let the new car novelty wear off with the RS3 and I bet it won’t compare to the enjoyment you get from your BW. If you are determined to try something else I would get a 6 speed sports car and in the price range would...
There are other cleaning products you can use that will be just as effective and less risky. I use Turtle Wax Bug & Tar remover for the stuff that gets caked on and I’ve never had an issue being able to get it off. Years ago I used a pressure washer on one of my cars and it stripped some of the...
Mine just vibrates the seat but no continual vibration. I much prefer this over my wife’s Mercedes which just beeps obnoxiously and constantly as you are pulling into and out of the garage. Once I know I’m close from the initial vibration I’m careful and use the camera and yellow/orange/red...
PTM is available in V Mode.
I had the same issues as you with regular traction control on, but when I turn it off and have PTM in sport I do get a little more slip and less interference. I haven’t tried kicking the back end out yet though.
You seem to be having numerous issues with your transmission (I believe you have started several threads about your trans/clutch). How long did you have your other manual and how many miles? Rather than trying to diagnose your issues here, I would bring your car into Cadillac.
