I think as a sporty grand tourer and mile muncher the c8 is an excellent option. Most of my complaints were due to it not being raw enough compared to my CT4 blackwing, the blackwing felt more like a sports car than the C8 for me. I would also consider a LC500 for your requirements.

I don't know about the 70K+ price though. Unless I really wanted the convertible I would save the 10-15K and get the supra.

As much as I like the Mach 1 and the dark horse to an extent once you’ve experienced the alpha chassis Camaro it’s hard to go back to mustangs. The Camaro is so much a better drive, actually op find a ss 1le or a zl1, it feels more playful and raw than the blackwings.

It’s my third car. So can be as impractical as it needs to be. I owned a nc prht. The nd3 is much better than that. The nd1 was a bit underpowered imo, they fixed that.

Why I made the move from the ct4 blackwing to my nd3 Miata. Put a 500$ exhaust on it and you can redline on gear changes and still be close to speed limits. Couldn’t do that in my blackwing.

Are you comparing it with a miata or the m2 comp? Lets get that out of the way. This is still a 3800 lb 4 door car, its not going to feel as fun as a 2300 lb 2 seater. Now onto the m2 competition. I am presuming you are talking about the F87. What it seems like you want it twitchy and tail...

For me the biggest issue with the supra was me hitting my head thrice(On entry and exit) on the extended test drive with carmax. Its a very weird roof/cabin position.

I JUST fit in mine. And it’s on the non recaros. I don’t fit in the recaros. Might explore a bucket or the brackets at some point to get even lower.

I agree, the red is gorgeous. IMO its the only good miata color. Everything else is a shade of grey. It was also a little hard to find as its end of the year and not many 24s are around anymore. Found this and jumped on it.

Talk about timing- both of us exit the 4BW at the same time :) I am looking for something more impractical than the blackwing- Mine sat a lot too especially after wife got the RS3- that was the go to fun family car. So my logic was if I am going to use the blackwing only for true solo fun...

I thought I did my part- bought a manual blackwing, and released it to the wild. Now thanks to me there’s one more of them.
