Yup. These damn screws. All stripped out. One was good 1/8" from full seating and there was some movement when the lid around it was pushed down. Didnt have time to take the inlet hose off to get to it, but merely pushing down the lid seemed to have resolved it temporarily. Will fix it this...
I've had the larger tube lid for about a week and a half, though I don't drive that much.
The good: definitely quicker throttle response, and it does pull stronger.
The not so good: I did already get the CEL and reset it with my torque app. I don't like how the revs hang when coasting in neutral...
Its the shifter mounting plate bushings. Old issues going back to ATS-V. Do a search and you will find lots of discussions. They all wear out way too prematurely.
Then there are the shifter assembly bushings waring and falling apart. But that's a separate story.
I heard nothing but good things about Heritage. Got on the allocation list with Joe Ignoffo, but by the time he called 4 months later with an allocation, I already purchased a slightly used one. He placed an a dealership order just before I contacted him (he said), so that's how long it took to...
Second that. Always replace wheels. Stock usually sucks.
Even the tech bronze that most people love. My wife and I looked at them when I brought the car home. Nope.
Not more than 4hrs after I typed my response above, I got a used intake lid with oversized tubs and a jb4 off facebook. Will stay with the lid until I find the time to regap plugs for the jb4. Not a fan of ECU spoofing like that instead of proper tuning, but it seems like people are not having...
I don't understand how people find the rear seat unusable. No its not generous, but my wife and I are both 5'8" and I can sit in the rear seat behind her without having to adjust the front just fine. That with a 70lb dog sitting up in the middle seat and a child booster seat over to the right...
I will buy a used one when I see one for sale. Will do until I am closer to warranty expiration and I tune the thing. I know its not undetectable if they go looking to deny coverage if something comes up, but nevertheless.
This airbox is spoofing the ECU. The ECU doesn't know that its producing more torque. The torque is calculated based on the inputs and when the inputs are spoofed, the ECU still thinks its produces its preset max. If it was to know the real numbers, it would dial down the boost/timing to limit...
Modern engines control torque output to predetermined maximum values. Changing these maximum values requires modifying calibration. So installing parts without modifying calibration only increases potential (if even that) of the car to make more power/torque, but not actually do so.
I am assuming that is on an unlocked ecu and on the same aftermarket calibration? A stock calibration car can't make any more power with aftermarket parts.
