I haven't been paying enough attention I didn't even know this was a thing:
20th Anniversary of V-Series Commemorative content:
Includes 20th Anniversary grille header decal and unique cluster wake up animation
IMO too many 'special' editions. 120th, 20th, IMSA x3, Mondrian ... I know BMW...
Eh, maybe it's just me but the Sport Classic feels entirely cynical - it's not quite a sticker pack for the Turbo, but it's darn close to high-class version of that. No enthusiast I know would take one over a GT3 Touring.
I could stand corrected but over the long run a mint 5BW might be more...
Performance isn't the point of that car. It's an investment asset for the most loyal customers of the top Porsche dealers, a bit like having fine art or collectable wine.
For me one of the most attractive things about the 5BW is that it can be the ultimate 'one car garage'. You can eat up the interstate miles in total comfort, rip twisty/fun sections of a canyon road, do a few laps of a road course - maybe even all on one road trip- all the while being somewhat...
Magnetic Ride Control is magic but these aren't WRC cars...
For making pace on really lumpy backroads I usually put the suspension in the tour setting and ramp up everything else.
I've got My Mode as follows for fun street driving:
Steering: Tour (first notch) --> IMO the more weight the less feel
Brake Feel: Sport (middle notch) --> not too 'grabby' but sharp response on backroads
Suspension: Sport (middle notch) --> seems like better body control on twisty roads
Engine...
I would love to try a 4 on a twisty backroad to compare, I imagine it's a real hoot!
The DWA ("driving while awesome") podcast had one of the more negative reviews of the 5V, and they said something similar about it being 'boaty' and how it's really hard to get into a rhythm and have fun on a...
I don't hate it at all, aside from the red mirror caps (presumably easy to replace) -- if this were a low cost option I'd consider it if I were flush enough to spec out a new 4 as a dedicated track car.
That's awesome! It's one seriously bad-ass car, enjoy it.
Glad to see things calming down a bit with mark ups. I was seriously considering the RS6 Avant while I was waiting for my Blackwing # to come up. The dealers were asking 50K ADM at the time (peak COVID), and it wasn't $200+K worth of...
Bimmer fanboys are the second most obnoxious, right after Tesla. It baffles me considering how BMW has abandoned them to make rolling e-mobility tech solutions where the backseat is prioritized over the driver's seat.
Branson is Jaaaaag all the way
Rant: the 5BW and 4BW are very much designed to be street cars with track capability. PTM is "Track Only", and Cadillac representatives encourage you to track the cars when you go to your included V Academy sessions.
To sell a car like this and then deny warranty for items that fail on track is...
Agree 100% - I was there, and there's no beating the sound of those roaring V8s - you could always tell when the Caddies were coming! 3-4 finish is really strong and I hope GM can build on this.
I was there … this was an outstanding result for Cadillac, and the crowd loved the roar of those NA V8s! Glad Action Express made it back into the race.
Ah, I remember ordering the Nav Update CD-ROM for my 2012 V-Wagon.
What a total waste of money.
Got tired of driving over the new Bay Bridge and the car complaining I was under water.
Well, also government mandates ... it's been decreed that ICE cars are to be phased out by a certain date. Whether it really happens remains to be seen, but manufacturers hands have been forced.
Which is why people get so upset about those mandates - punish consumers to make it look like...
Following up on my post from there, I'm not Anti-All-EV - I'd love a Rimac Nevera, but I'd Nevera be able to afford one. I'm sure it has some form of infotainment but I hadn't bothered to check
