That's fair, but JLR put that 5.0 liter into basically everything they made for a decade and it's got the ubiquitous ZF 8 speed.
Anecdotally they're reasonably stout at least on the powertrain side w/ normal maintenance.
I've found PTM sport to be a bit of a "party" mode, especially at low speeds. Easy to throw the car in and sit in a little low angle, easily controlled slide. Works best in the wet, obviously.
Otherwise the limits on the car are mostly too high to access on a public road.
Just clean them, it comes right off. I waited over a year of daily driving to do mine and now they look great. I used the Griots 3 in 1 spray and a microfiber. Took all of 5 minutes.
I'm about 18 months behind you on this plan.
Hoping VW nails the EV GTI and I can grab hatch for even more practicality.
Though the Ioniq 5N is pretty appealing too...
Looks like the games (lawsuits) have begun.
I think the stronger case is probably for one of us who 100% opted out of Smart Driver and still had reports end up on Lexis. @Throat Yogurt that's you, right?
I'm going to request my Lexis report too, but I absolutely never opted in and have never...
Had never driven a single manual before buying mine.
Do you want manufacturers to stop making them? Because your approach is why they stop making them.
We need more people to get in and try. I did a lot of stalling for about two weeks. The car didn't explode.
I've seen it described as actually slowing down the throttle response and making it more linear. Easier to be precise with getting the power down on corner exit.
Feels that way in my experience, too.
