I'm not going to repeat what was written above except perhaps to say do it, you won't regret it! On my 15 mile commute I average 19 MPG, and I've seen well over 24 (IIRC) on long highway drives. Zero issues on the long drive.

It also has accident history requiring a tow.

If it would make you feel better, compare our cars' depreciation to a BMW 7 series, or Mercedes S class, or any Bentley. And good luck finding any of those with a manual transmission and a glorious obnoxious exhaust sound.
