Funny enough - the Service Advisor and Service Manager had no idea the engine is "hand built" by a single person and their name is proudly displayed on the top of the engine plaque. I politely asked they forward their findings about the issue back to the engine builder/their management in...
The exact wording in the owners manual is "recommended" not required fwiw - I looked it up. Someone else on the forum also pointed out previously that at exactly 501 miles on the odometer the engine redline on the dash changes from 4k to normal. Why program it at exactly 501 miles versus 1501 if...
It's pretty well known the data logging on modern cars is extensive and I had no reason to tell anything but the 100% truth since at the time it definitely appeared to be a failure in the oiling system (I initially guessed an oil line burst while investigating during my 2 hour wait for the...
It was actually on a 2 lane curvy back road at night and I was lucky nobody was immediately behind me. The rear tires were completely coated in oil when I was able to find a driveway to coast into. Fwiw, if you ever have to turn the motor off while driving you have to hold the stop/start button...
I'm preparing a full write up to post in its own thread - but speaking of Goat Rodeos - my 2025 CT5 Blackwing with 607 miles on it ejected a metal plug in the oil pan the first time I crossed 5k rpm and emptied the engine of all its oil at 70+ mph. The car has been sitting at the local dealer...
Yes
Yes, my 2025 was basically loaded but the CF seatbacks were on constraint so they ordered them with an option code to that removes the CF seatbacks but keeps the highest tier seats. In the performance subforum I noticed a vendor offering carbon seat backs for 3k yesterday - so totally doable.
Someone who is connected inside GM shared with me recently that Cadillac has gone through like 5-6 different suppliers for the carbon fiber pieces in/outside the car since the BW was introduced. Most of them have gone bankrupt and new suppliers found - that is the reason for inconsistent supply.
The Blackwing King at Sewell (Dustin) is who I worked with to custom order my '25 BW at sticker price. Highly recommend him! That said, I did have to wait in line for an allocation which took a long time, but I know the wait is worth it.
I don't recall the exact key sequence (I believe you hold down the start button with the engine off for more than 10 seconds to force a car reboot) but when I was researching the infotainment system in modern GM vehicles (I work in IT) there is a way to do a hard reboot of the system when this...
FYI - my 2025 'normal' Blackwing came from the factory with red center belt. Not sure if it's a glitch in the matrix or they responded to customer feedback. 🤷
I haven't taken delivery yet, but Dustin did send me some pictures of my 2025 BW that showed up at Sewell Monday evening after they had closed for the night. It apparently was in the same group that was delivered via enclosed carrier as a nice surprise since I did not option that. Also a nice...
Cadillac has had test drive events at various IMSA races this year and I was lucky enough to test drive the CT4V and CT5V Blackwings at the race in Sebring, FL earlier this year. It may be something to consider if you're interesting in attending one of the races in person next year (only the...
