Sounds like it’s wanting to be a diesel! My GT350 did that, bad enough I got a new motor after only 6 K miles

    Z06 to CT5V BW

New C8 Z06 has a stop sale order on them right now. Too many gas station fires when filling.

    Z06 to CT5V BW

Well if you get a 5 BW get one with the precision package. Or if you want better handling with less weight get a 4 BW. Google the reviews of a 5 BW with the precision package. If I was going to move up from a 4 BW that’s what I’d get. I’d fancy a 992 GT3 too, but that’s over 200k. From having...

Curated by Cadillac - Hand built CT5BW

A true hand welded full seam chassis would be nice.

Is the CT4V Blackwing fun at legal-ish speeds

Had my 4BW up to 150 MPH.......felt fine. No chassis lift or anything. That's with the regular aero. With the full carbon aero, NOO problems.

For that amount, add another 100 HP or so.

self duplicating and evolving code was being generated on ARPA net long ago. We called them worms back then.

    Rear Diff Fluid

I think you can run either one. One is better for track usage but I don’t remember which one. Go look at the Tremec website

Thoughts on purchasing a used blackwing that was a V academy car. Try to get at bargain price or avoid at all costs??

When Ford got rid of their 350 Shelby’s after the classes ended people got great deals on them and they seemed to be fine mechanically.

    Auto vs. Manual

A manual LS is rare. I think was only for the V6 right? That was a nice car that they gave up on. It drove nicely and looked nice. The V8 was a nice car too.

Dealer Tech Didnt Realize I have PDR

I think most of us old farts that have been managers for 30 years, would doubt that a tech that acted this way is an otherwise good employee.

Dealer Tech Didnt Realize I have PDR

I also have a remote second home and on occasion I let people in when I’m not there. I’ve had a blanket stolen, dishwasher detergent tabs stolen and a pile of loose change stolen by a plumbing company that had to rotor out my main drain pipe. I don’t have cameras yet but the plumbing company...

Dealer Tech Didnt Realize I have PDR

The tech should be fired. He's probably done this before and damaged other cars. I'd show the manager and the owner the footage of it. Some people need to be taught lessons, even ifs it costs him his job.

    Acceleration Buzzing Sound (CT4-V Blackwing)

Given that when you press down the noise goes away, I'm not sure why they think it's a throwout bearing, as I don't see how pressing on the shifter can in any way, affect the throwout bearing. They are not connected in any way.

    CT5-V 2025 Blackwing Redline

To me max revs on a boosted car are not as important as the max boost pressure.

    CT5-BW Brake Wear

Like I said, drive till the light comes on that shows the pad sensor got tripped due to wear. I don’t know of any brand that gives you a percentage of life wear or life left, even Porsche does not do that. It’s a simple wear binary yes/no sensor. When it trips get new pads. Simple. It’s not like...

    CT5-BW Brake Wear

You don’t need new pads till the wire that shorts out the circuit gets worn through, and a light on your dash tells you to service the brakes. That’s what the wear sensor is for, use it. Even when it goes off you have pad left to drive a bit more. People change pads too soon. Unless your doing a...

Slow leak, guidance on how to proceed

Note that this is rare, but a wheel can get a hairline crack and the tire losses pressure that way too. That happened to a friend of mine. The crack was small and barely visible. Could also be the valve stem leaking. Did they do the soapy water test?
