The CF is an easy aftermarket add-on. The PDR can be added on later but at a MUCH higher cost & level of difficulty. All things being equal, I'd take the '24.
Any warranty differences between to the 2 vehicles since the '24 is used?
I recently noticed I was 1 qt low. I'm at 25% oil life left. I know it was topped off correctly at the last oil change bc I personally know the dumbass tech very well since he also owns and drives the car. I was 1 qt low in between my last oil change as well.
To take out the controller, you have to:
Get into the footwell
Remove the throttle pedal (held in by a bolt)
Disconnect the throttle controller from a fiddly OEM connector on the pedal
Disconnect the throttle controller module from the OEM fiddly connector
Connect the OEM cable to the pedal...
Met BimmerFan & one other forum member today. We all braved the cold to meet & greet. Unbeknownst to us, there were a few other 4/5 BW's showing up as well. Altogether, there were 6 of us -- 4 5BW & 2 4BW. We all agreed this is the most number of BW's we've ever seen in one place/C&C.
I plan on being there tomorrow even though the temps are forecast to be in the low-30's. There might be one other person from this forum there. This C&C usually tends to be on the smaller side with only a few hundred or so cars in attendance. (Dunno how many will actually attend given the cold...
I've had my 5BW 6MT since Jan 2023 & now have >37k miles on her. When I had the OEM tires, I've had her at +170mph without issue. My 2020 Dodge Charger WB Hellcat felt more unstable at +160mph than the BW. I think it's bc the 5BW has slightly better aero even though I don't have any of the CF...
They are horrible compared to?
I currently have >37k miles on my 5BW that I bought new in Jan 2023. Therefore, I drive A LOT. Whatever trade off I have in the Michelin A/S vs the OEM tire is worth it to me because of all the rain I experience in the North Carolina Triangle area. The OEM tires...
From the Michelin website:
MICHELIN Pilot Sport A/S 4 325/30 ZR19 101(Y) ZP BSW
MICHELIN Pilot Sport A/S 4 275/35 ZR19/XL 100Y
I got their RF version on the rears because that's all they had at the time I needed new tires. I haven't had an issue with them. They are great in the rain as compared...
There are no rear OEM sized A/S tires for the 5BW. (There is for the front.) But there are still options available if you're willing try a 325 in the rear with a spacer. It looks a little strange bc the wider tire in the rear makes the rear look REALLY wide. I didn't like it at first but it's...
You can't tell by looking at her but I installed the Soler Performance Bluetooth Throttle Controller today. It really "livens up" the throttle response with so many more options than OEM. In addition, I can deactivate the throttle pedal as a theft deterrant when the vehicle is parked.
The photo...
Reply from Soler:
Hi Sonny,
Thank you for reaching out. We do offer a throttle controller for your CT5-V. It's actually the same exact one you bought for your Corvette the SEO525. Here is the link for it. SE0525-TC DLX Bluetooth® Throttle Controller: Corvette 7/8, Camaro 6, Cadillac CTS 3 &...
As posted on a previous thread, I did the same thing: Michelin Pilot All Sport AS4 325/30/19 in the rear on OEM wheels with 6mm spacers.
No rubbing at all of the fender. The inside edge of the tire sometimes just barely touches the fender liner -- but just barely & only under severe loading.
I installed a Soler Performance Bluetooth Throttle Controller on my C8. The bonus for this controller is I can deactivate the throttle pedal from responding to inputs as a theft deterrant. In other words, when deactivated, press down the accelerator all you want with the vehicle started & it...
Two words for you: Flyin Miata
I knew them even before Bill & Teri Cardell started FM when it was still known as The Dealer Alternative in West Orange, NJ. It was the year I met them that they moved to Colorado. When I had my NA Miata, I essentially had the entire FM catalogue installed in her...
