    Brake Shudder CT4-V

From my experience, forget the 60-10 stops. Find somewhere to get up to well over 100mph. Ease into the pedal, but get on the brakes really hard, but not ABS. Do it 2 or 3 times, and I bet it fixes it. These brakes are massive and need a lot of energy put into them to heat them up.

Looking For Advice on Quick Jack or Race Ramps for CT4-V Blackwing

Measure the distance between your pinch welds. It's 62 inches between pinch welds at the closest point for the BW5. You need to add 2 inches on both sides for the blocks for a total of 66 inches. "Minimum Lift Point Spread" (I) according to QuickJacks needs to be 66 inches. So, the TLX or ELX...

    Detailing thread

In my opinion, I wouldn't worry about "protecting" any surfaces of the interior. Just make a habit of doing a light cleaning once a month (which is about every other car wash for me) of the interior. If you keep up with it, it'll never get that dirty, and real grime will never set in. I keep...

    CT5 BW brake parts

That appears to be the lower control arm cover. It's for aero, but not for deflecting air for brake cooling. Should have been installed by the dealer.

Looking For Advice on Quick Jack or Race Ramps for CT4-V Blackwing

How did you position the lift blocks for that? The distance between pinch weld cutouts is too long for me to fit my quickjack with extension (66").

    CT5 BW brake parts

You shouldn't be installing rear air deflectors for a CCB car. It's not needed, and can actually scoop debris into the big $$$ rotors.

    Oil Changes

I can't remember the last time I checked out of Autozone online without a 20% off discount code. They are always available, and free shipping. $7.99 is about the best I've found.

Looking For Advice on Quick Jack or Race Ramps for CT4-V Blackwing

Quickjacks are pretty good for what they are, but be careful to get the right size that will fit the most cars possible. My older model with extensions doesn't fit the CT5. I'd go with the longest version they have now.

    CT5 BW brake parts

Non-CF1 cars. -Remove front tire deflector for track use. Non-CCB cars. -Apply all of the additional brake cooling mods provided. -Remove front rotor dust shield and replace with front ball joint protector shield -Remove upper and lower rear rotor shields...

    CT5 BW brake parts

The tomahawks ARE the "front ball joint protector shields." They replace the standard dust shield. The big air deflector pictured is the the lower control arm deflector. It stays on all the time, track or street. The "front tire deflector" comes only on non CF1 cars and is removed for track use...

    Oil Changes

Yeah, this is the first I've seen a Dexos1 for the LT4. It has to be a typo. There is no Dexos1 0W40 anyway...https://www.gmdexos.com/brands/dexos1/index.html It's very simple, there is only one oil for the CT5VBW...Mobil 1 ESP (Dexos2) ESP 0W40...that's it. It'll be called Mobil 1 Supercar...

    Oil Changes

Not to derail too much, but Mobil1 is now $10/quart and the ACDelco filters are $10. When Mobil changes the name of the 0W-40 from "ESP" to "Supercar" the price goes up to $12 because racecar.

    Carbon fiber PN database.

Thanks for that link!! I'll use that in the future. Edit: actually it looks like the link to sign in just goes back to the TDS website and the same "software not included" manual.

Yep. I thought I took a picture of it, but I guess not. Anyway...here's a pic of an overheating Lambo I took instead.

    Oil Changes

Have you checked the price of Mobil 1 lately? And it takes 9 quarts. Anyway, I changed mine before 500 miles and lots of people poo pood the idea..."it's not the old days anymore." Well, you should have seen the chunks of metal (probably aluminum) that came out of the pan. Glad I did it.

I'm using ACDelco TDS which is for aftermarket use, not dealers, I guess. It doesn't link to parts, just other service manual sections. If there is public/aftermarket access to the parts (paid or unpaid) diagrams and numbers, I'd love to know about it.

I have access to the service manual, but I don't see where the parts diagrams are.

    CT5 BW brake parts

Ah yes, well my car didn't even come with those to begin with, so I kinda forgot about them. I plan to put those back on when not tracking as well. (if I ever get them, can't even order them from a GM dealership right now it seems). For a CCB car, the front tire deflector does seem to be the...

Aha!!! Finally some clarification that the strakes vs. tire deflector are the difference between CF1 (CFZ) and no CF. Now, where can I get my hands on these parts diagrams.

    CT5 BW brake parts

The rear cooling deflectors are ONLY for steel brake cars, the CCB cars don't need it. Not sure if you are supposed to replace the front rotor shields with the tomahawk ones on a CCB car, or not. I have steel brakes, so that is what I am looking into the most. If you don't track the car, there...
