The tires for both the 4BW and 5BW are ingenuously named "stop flat" tires. They don't stop flats from happening, as the name would imply. Instead of run flat, which let's you run with them flat, they require that you stop when you get a flat. Makes total sense.

Tirerack does list the proper TPC spec tires for the 5BW. I ordered a set since the fronts are on backorder, and I wanted to be first in line when they came in. Tirerack then called me to give me the info on the backorder. Basically, Michelin produces these tires in big batches, not year round...

Buy them sooner than later. I talked to tirerack and they are not currently producing tires for the 5BW. They still have some rears available, but no fronts. I put my name on a set of rears, and they will send them to me when the fronts are made.

They aren't actually carbon fiber, but the front tire deflectors of the non-CF1 cars are replaced by under body strakes for CF1 cars.

I bought a new Golf R a few years ago, and decided on white. (oryx white, which is actually really good for a white) Pretty much the week after I bought it I wish I had gone with Lapiz Blue, which is quite a rare color. Luckily, I now have a 5BW in Wave Blue, which is very close to Lapiz.
