2023 Build Out and 2024 Start of Production Dates

It's just GM being GM. C7 ZR1 was the same way. No one had any idea how long it'd be produced until the official C8 announcement.

    CT5-V Blacking 6MT - Did you know??????????

I'm not proud, but this was on the way to the track where I did 2-3mpg.

2023 Build Out and 2024 Start of Production Dates

I'm not sure I'm ready to re-enter the rodeo, but I also wish I knew if 2024 was the last year or not.

CT4-V 4BW OEM brake pad life

If they are squeaking badly one thing that you can do is get some heat in them to "clean" the mating surface of the pad/rotor. On a "racetrack" get up to at least 100mph and brake really hard down to about 10mph. By really hard, I mean almost into ABS. Using the G-meter will help...0.8Gs should...

    CT5-V Issues with 6MT Burnout

I vote too much brake. Once you get the wheels spinning fast enough, it barely takes any brake to lock the front wheels.

Watch the TPC code for replacement tires

Weirdly, I ordered a full set back in September from Tirerack, and they finally arrived in January. Rears were in stock, they were waiting on fronts to send them all together. When I got them, though the date codes on the fronts were way older (I think December 2021) than the rears (October...

Watch the TPC code for replacement tires

The TPC is a different compound. They will probably wear different, and if you are tracking I'd get a TPC tire.

    Leather or microfiber steering wheel/shifter?

I have the microfiber, and I love it. It will NOT wear off. When you see what looks like worn off microfiber, it's just severely matted down with oils/dirt. Just use a microfiber towel and good interior cleaner (or, from my detail guy, use ONR quick detailer dilution) to rub the wheel and...

CT5-V 2023 manual went for $120k plus $5k BAT fees

It definitely takes two to tango in an auction, but here is the guy that bought it. He even said "I'm not waiting 18 months..." He doesn't mess around with 50 auctions won, mostly pretty high dollar cars. https://bringatrailer.com/member/nico2015/

My secret dream job is to design boxes like that

    Stopping Epoxy Floor Tire Marks

I'd build 4 4x4 swisstrax panels to go under the tires. https://www.swisstrax.com/ribtrax-pro-flooring-tile.html

    Subwoofer Install

Yeah, there is. A lot more road/wind noise. I would like to drive a stock car back to back with mine to see since I am now immune to it. I really noticed it on a recent road trip with my wife an she pointed out how loud it was when trying to listen to an audio book.

    Subwoofer Install

One full day. I have my amp and LOC secured in the spare tire well, they aren't going anywhere. My sub box is Velcrod in, and I can take it out super easy, just have to disconnect the two speaker wires. You can also go the custom box built in route to have the box more permanently installed and...

    Subwoofer Install

Freeman Car Stereo in Concord. The installer was Chad, and he's a car guy and very good. They were very responsive to all me questions, and I harped on a clean install, and I think they delivered. Feel free to reference my car.

    Blackwing Constraints Tracker

It's not that simple. You'd have to wait until your dealer gets another allocation. Also, depending on the dealer, you might have to go to the back of their line for allocations. As for carbon fiber, I wouldn't count on it becoming more available any time soon. CF has been on serious constraint...

    Greetings from a New Owner

I like how Cadillac is slapping a $7k+ anniversary "package" on cars to try to get a cut of the dealer ADM madness, yet there are still dealer ADMs on these cars.

CT5-V Getting Rid of Fake Engine Noise

Interesting. However, you not only disabled the fake engine noise, but also the ANC. It'd be interesting to see if you can tell the difference by isolating the ANC from the ESE and toggling them on and off. I have the ANC disabled in my car by disconnecting the 3 microphones (aftermarket amp and...
