I dunno about slower but you definitely gotta shift deliberately and get that clutch all the way to the floor at least in my car. Deliberate can be fast with practice so there's that...
Well I am in a 4BW but I find Sport to be pretty well balanced. Track was too much and Ive only messed with Race 1 for 0-60 experiments. Also, all the roads within 100mi of me that are worth clicking over to Sport PTM are well above mile high elevation so the car isnt making full power anyway.
Ospreys in the USMC, I didn't care for pulling G's, felt too much like work, 4g was fine by me.
Haven't crashed a plane, a car, or a motorcycle yet despite many external factors aimed at just that outcome so Ill rip when its time to rip and cruise when its time to cruise.
Ah yes, the belittling name calling ruse, really the high water mark for tier 1 keyboard warriors.
Ill take my 13yrs flying mil aircraft, 3 yrs contract flying in most places you only hear about on BBC news, and the current gig rippin around in the fastest private jet flying and just let the...
Well then Im sorry you are confused about how optimizing for wet apexes and high speed turns on a track is somehow the same as a wet road. Youve got your wet bridge to deal with, super, put it Track and Race 2 for the Walmart parking lot, by all means.
But my point is and has been that when...
Im sorry you are confused about the difference between when its a good idea to push the car a bit when traffic and weather permit and when it might be a good idea to back off.
I played with Wet PTM on my long drive home from the dealer when it was a snow/rain mix but there were no such obstacles you mentioned and I couldnt use cruise control so away it went. Since then I have not found the regular traction control to be the party pooper you have, there are lots of...
I understand all of that. I do not understand how using a track mode setting in wet conditions on the street is a good idea but if it works for you, great. OPs question was one of staying out of trouble, not how to "move as quickly as traction allows".
Whats also interesting is that the Blackwing addendum manual says that PTM is only available in Track or V mode and also makes no mention of the steering PTM toggle. It further says on the driving mode chart that PTM is unavailable in Tour, Sport, or Snow/Ice.
I am able to use the toggle to...
Thats exactly what Im saying, the "P" in PTM is performance and the car telling you that you are heading into more dynamic territory by 1) giving you 2 amber traction lights and 2) not allowing you use cruise control in any PTM setting indicates to me that any PTM option, including Wet, is for...
It doesnt really make sense to me why you would select a more aggressive traction setting when driving in the wet than just leaving it in the basic tour setting or even V mode with no PTM? Who is looking to drive aggressively in the rain with optimized wet corner exits on the street anyway...
Yeah, new dates available, picked up a spot end of September, will be a nice early B-day present! The timing works out well and I should be able to drive my 4BW there and back from AZ.
You can get a throttle blip if you are in 5th or 6th gear and just move the shift lever to neutral and anywhere to the left of the 5/6 gate. It will blip again going in to whichever lower gear you want.
So far my biggest annoyance is the absurd plastic cover over the positive battery terminal that you cant remove without tearing apart the whole trunk. Im on the road for work 2 weeks at a time and leave my car on the tender routinely so not having the pigtail connected to the battery and having...
For me, the micro suede was a no brainer, my hands sweat a lot and the leather option on this steering wheels seems like its more prone to go shiny quicker. Basic care like brushing it once a week with a leather brush releases any matted fibers and its basically new again in about a minute.
Oof, going to be dealing with a windshield replacement soon myself and this thread does not inspire confidence. I may just wait until they finish the 1.5yr road project near my house before I pull the trigger on a replacement since the crack isnt really in my eyeline and a new piece of glass is...
Im at 1400mi so I installed a brand new, custom, one of a kind...
Windshield crack.
First one in over 2 decades of driving so I guess I shouldnt be too pissed.
5th wheel trailer dipped his tire onto the shoulder and sent up a shotgun blast of rocks. No pic because I cant even stand to look...
