    Spring Mountain Track Times

9/30/2023 Temps: 68F Track: East loop bowl Car: 4BW M6 Group: Blue Best lap: 1:18.6 AutoX: 30.47 (slow, winner took it with a 28.xx) Day 2 was cool, windy, and overcast. Ran the best lap after lunch on day 2, followed by an 1:18.8 in the afternoon. Pretty pumped with those numbers as neither...

    Spring Mountain Impressions

Just wrapped up Spring Mountain and I can echo the consensus that it was an outstanding experience. The condos are quite nice, the provided breakfast and lunch are better than most Marriotts, and the instructors more than up to the task of helping anyone get better or at least more comfortable...

Do you actually use the HUD?

The bundled cost was why I omitted this option from my build, I had a HUD on my SS and in that car I used it entirely as a speedo. But polarized sun glasses made it very dim and with the BW, the digital cluster is much easier to glance at and get all the info I need so it wasnt worth the cost...

    PTM question

Dirkbg, might want to play around with your car a bit more. Launch control for the manual is in PTM Sport. Once you have that engaged you can set up other launch parameters. Put the car in PTM Sport and start digging in to the V Performance menu. Or read the V Performance addendum manual. Yes...

CT4-V Windshield Replacement Woes (Don't be like Me)

How critical is OEM glass for a non-HUD vehicle? Will I still be able to see the flashing collision Leds with the Walmart glass? My insurance is full replacement glass thru Safelite and in AZ I expect 100% chance of a re-break within a year

CT4-V Tools and Parts for DIY oil change

Damn, my “other” filter wrench crushed my OG factory filter so I got the fluted cap 😂 Factory workers musta been breaking in their 4’ long picket signs as torque wrenches… I did an intermediate change myself and just had the dealer do the the freebie so we’ll see how they did in a few thou

    Oil Filters

Yeah thats all true and prior to the re-release of the PF-63 in 2020, these were legit benefits over the older PF-63E. But the current (well, technically recently replaced) PF-63 was released in 2020, after the UPF-63R, and is now nearly the same as UPF, including the higher pressures. For...

    Oil Filters

You already ignored a legit answer I gave to one of your many questions, questions that have been directly answered yet you keep asking. Im amused to see that even after given the exact part numbers for ramps proven to work you went out and asked the people whose job it is to sell those ramps...

    Oil Filters

Its worth getting a flex funnel since as soon as you unscrew the filter it dribbles down on the aluminum sub frame and can leave a but if a mess, phantom oil drips on your floor for the next week. I was pretty dilligent cleaning it up but the dealer, not so much.

    Oil Filters

I dont think Ive ever seen someone overthink or over analyze a simple situation more. Just pay the dealer to do your oil changes and move on if you dont hear back from NASA first.

    Oil Filters

Yeah, couple interesting takeaways worth considering. The thicker body is where the weight comes from, hence the heft. More importantly for me though, the standard PF63, at least the part number in the manual, actually has MORE filtering surface area than the UPF63R and a nearly identical...

    Oil Filters

Do you have a service bulletin or something that says those viscosities are good for use on a 4BW? And from what I can tell, the only diff on the 63R filter is the bypass pressure. Id just be wary of presentations made by the company that is the sole source provider of a product. “Of course its...

    Oil Change (Yes, another)

Im not sure how youd remove the front wheels with Race Ramps? The whole point is to drive up on them. By working I mean I can drive my car up on to them and work underneath from the tranny forward without too much difficulty, oil changes are fine. These ramps are 10" of lift. I have the RR-XT-2...

    Oil Change (Yes, another)

I have Race Ramps and they worked fine for me. The only new wrinkle that you may see is that GM has replaced the part number for the oil filter, its different than whats in the manual. Dealers are using 12731742 which most of the online parts retailers now list as a replacement for the 12707246...
