CT5-V Retrofitting carbon ceramic brakes to 5BW?

Do you guys have any experience with these pads, also on closeout at KNS? DBA XP Performance Brake Pads Closeout for 2023 Cadillac CT5 V Blackwing Iron Discs The description makes it sound like they'd tolerate at least light-duty track use. Mostly curious about dust (IE, chasing the holy...

    BRAKE PADS FOR TRACK DAY

Spring Mountain CP 8 100+ mph breaking zones down to 40mph. High average speed 3.2 mile track ~2:35 times. Heavy on brakes but then I didn't ride brakes. Riding them doesn't give them time to cool between braking zones. By the way I average 75% brake wear each track weekend. So I usually need...

Can I get your opinions on my front rotors

...have lasted much longer than the stock pads. Negative: Much more dust and occasional break squealing. Overall Rating: These are great brake pads for heavy track use, but most Cadillac V-Series owners will not like them. My use case is much different than most V-Series owners. At least 50%...

Those are the SR11 sintered pads, right?

CT4-V Intermittent Front (?) Suspension Noise

My ‘24 4BW has a noise exactly as you describe here. It has 1,000 miles on it, but has been doing it since the day it was new. Almost sounds like it’s “cycling” as it goes over bumps at medium to low speeds. I describe is exactly as you did - if it were an old car would say it needs suspension...

    Steel rotor brake pad replacement

Can you please provide OE Brake Pads Part #'s for 5BW w/ Steel Rotor - Front and Rear pads and/or pads with kit - I couldn't find anyone providing the part #s in my searches. Much appreciated. I believe J57 indicates Steel Rotors, and J6H indicates Carbon Ceramic Rotors.

    CT4-V 4BW current miles

I'm just over 33,000 miles now, 3 track days and I'm ready to replace the brake pads & maybe the rotors. The car is solid, you know "meets or exceeds customer expectations".

CT4-V Intermittent Front (?) Suspension Noise

...old... a thwacky-clunk over impacts that doesn't last very long. I had the car in the air a few weeks back to install jack pads and swap brake pads. I don't recall any noises prior to that. I've swapped pads 100 times on previous cars for track duty, so I feel confident that I didn't...

How the Spring Mountain shop sets up their 4's

..."heavy duty" pads are, or if now, a year later, there are some good aftermarket options available. But a decent set of high temperature brake pads should certainly last more than a couple of days at the track. OE, yeah, probably not. I'll just throw this out there for s&g; many years ago I...

5BW - am I crazy for wanting more initial brake bite on the iron rotors?

I have DTC-60 brake pads, much improved bite, still no where near as responsive as an FK8. and the dust, its almost comical

Can I get your opinions on my front rotors

I am pretty sure you are right; I've had so many different sounds and strange things happen and even a decent wash of the pads/brakes seem to resolve issues which I thought were due to something being broken/wrong.

5BW - am I crazy for wanting more initial brake bite on the iron rotors?

You always give something up when ditching the OEM. They are usually the best all around performers when everything is considered. Hope these work for you.

CT4-V Intermittent Front (?) Suspension Noise

Yep, good call... I initially suspected this since my truck has this bad, but thought for sure these calipers wouldn't have an issue since my Mustang Brembos never did. After posting this, I drove the car 400 miles this weekend, and noticed a pronounced *click* about half the time I applied the...

Wanted New member in the market for a Gen1 V (WTB)

The car sounds awesome but it’s a little bit more than I’m looking for for a daily driver. Really looking for something as close to stock as possible. I can’t even imagine how much fun that car must be!

    BRAKE PADS FOR TRACK DAY

Another vote for OEM pads & Castrol SRF fluid. Not to hijack the thread but are you using the extra brake ducts provided and (most importantly) do you have to remove the disks to install them as indicated in the instructions? I ran in cool weather last year and brake cooling wasn't an issue...

Need help with CT5V BW vibration

Leaving brake pad deposits on the rotors caused the vibrations. Why were these brembo pads so inclined to do this?
