...for heavy track use as it’s designed to handle the heat generated during aggressive driving. So, even if you decide to go with ceramic brake pads and use OEM iron rotors, you’re still at a disadvantage simply because ceramic pads have much lower heat tolerance than semi-metallic pads, thus...

CT5-V Catalytic Converter and Brake work

I agree with this post. Got low duat pads from kns, but there are many pads listed on kns that fit the bw for for anyone's needs.

I run ceramic pads on my performance cars to eliminate brake dust for street driving. A good set of ceramic pads will eliminate brake dust by 80 to 90 percent because it sucks driving 10 miles and the wheels get filthy. Ive never had an issue with iron rotor and ceramic pads.

I know the car doesn't have any temp sensors in the brakes and uses an algorithm to approximate it. If you're not tracking the car, I assume its a non-issue. If you do run the car hard at the track, changing the pad compound might make the calculations done by the braking module incorrect...

Thanks for suggesting ceramic coating…didn’t know why I didn’t think about that from the beginning. Also, as much as I like the OEM brake system on the 4BW, I’m leaning towards getting the GiroDisc 2 for rotors and the Ferodo DS2500 for pads. Worth giving it a shot just to see how it compares...

CT5-V Catalytic Converter and Brake work

I haven't really posted but been looking for posts on 5BW CCB posts and replacement pads for track. Long story short my issues are: 4600 Miles Factory ceramic pads – not yet replaced Pads have about ¼ of life left Tracked twice at CoTA – about 200 miles Second tracking event put Cup2’s so got...

    Brake pad install questions

Getting ready to do pads. Never changed pads on Brembo's but it looks simple enough though. What are some do's and don'ts for this car? Just looking for any gotchas that can be avoided. Thanks

As others have mentioned the OEM rotors and pads sound like they suit your needs other than the brake dust, and it’s questionable if a replacement pad that fills your need has more or less dust. Have you considered ceramic coating your wheels instead, making them easier to clean? The OEM pads...

Carbotech pads are great. They make all kinds of variations too. I used them on an Alcon big brake kit that I put on a B6 S4 I had.

EPB Clunk After Brake pad/rotor replacement

Has anyone who has done a complete brake job with rotor and pad replacements experienced a clunking sound coming from the rear brakes after? I think it’s due to the EPB and it needing to be calibrated after to ensure it stays tight to the new rotor surface, but wanted to see if anyone else has...

What did you do to your Blackwing today?

Changed the brake pads. Cleaned the calipers and wheels while in there. Really easy job.

...price. Personally, I wouldn't switch to carbon ceramic rotors on a car that wasn't originally equipped with them. Nor would I use ceramic brake pads in a high performance vehicle application. But, that's just me. As others have stated, get with Ken and he'll let you know what all of your...

Looking for brake pad recommendations for track driving

It's just about time to change out the brake pads on my CT4-V BW for some track driving. Does anyone have any recommendations on good performing track brake pads that are still decent on the road. (ideally better than stock) Also open to Tire recommendations as well.

CT5-V Catalytic Converter and Brake work

Brakes: I had a bunch of track days on my 5BW & replaced the brake pads at 25k miles. KNS Brakes has many brake pad options for both front & rear. I recommend talking to them for your needs. (Disclaimer: I have no financial ties to KNS brakes other than giving them my $ for many brake parts over...

Also going from considering Redstuff/OEM to XP12 is quite a jump. Those pads aren't even in the same realm. What moved you to go that route?

I just received front and back Carbotech 1521 low-dust brake pads. The pads come with the slot for the wear sensors. I have them going on June 4th. I'll let you know how that goes. So far I've been very impressed with the company. I ordered the pads off the Carbotech website. Got a call...

Finally Let the Stingray Go — Blackwing Now My Only Fun Car

...the recommended process—it’s worth it. PPF: If you plan on keeping the car long-term, a clear bra on the front clip is a smart investment. Brake pads: If brake dust drives you crazy and you don’t plan on tracking your Blackwing, the Carbotech 1521 pads are fantastic. I’ve seen about an 80%...

...list of brake parts. After some researching through KNS and inputs that I've received on here, I'm leaning towards the Carbontech XP12 brake pads and the GiroDisc rotors. I'm planning on making a purchase within the next 2 weeks. I'll wait till then and see what others here have to say...
