JVP covered this earlier, but it’s more about breaking in the diff than anything. It’s also more about noise from the diff if you don’t break it in properly.
I typically buy scrub slicks for track use by the pallet. It was getting to the point that paying someone to mount them was nearly as expensive as the tires. Not to mention the hassle of dropping them off and picking them up.
I'm guessing, but I bet the one that is listed as 1970 had a delivery date and then that date went away so now it's null. Their web site doesn't check for that condition and so we get the null date value. Given that they still haven't fixed the 4BW online configurator, I'm not surprised.
I ended up buying my own tire mounter from a shop that was closing down and it took me a while to learn what I was doing. However, I just mounted four new OEM tires on four new rims and these PS4S are way easier to mount than the run flats on the C7. I have no idea why it would take them 3...
I’ve driven nearly 1500 miles in the past week with that alignment on my 5BW. That’s a mix of old town streets with bricks and train tracks as well as a lot of high speed on I-81 and I-95. The car drives great!
Let me clarify something. If you are in PTM Race 1 or Race 2 there is nothing that will stop you from spinning the car. PTM will try to limit wheel spin to maximize acceleration out of a corner, but there is no yaw control. Go in to a corner too fast while braking - you spin. Hop off the...
I bought 3 and use them all on each wheel. Usually two near the top and one near the bottom. I just move the 3 from wheel to wheel as I mount/dismount them.
Yes. I have a set that I bought from the company that bought out reverse logic. I posted about them at the time, but will try to dig up the link.
They work great and I won’t pull the wheels without them. I keep them in the trunk at all times.
Edit: new company is steel man tools and this is...
I had a Michelin split there between the tread blocks on my CTS V2. Those were the super sports and I always wondered if it came from daily driving them during a very cold Winter.
I have a set of scales at home and my friend has both a 4BW (3859 lbs) and a 718 GT4 (3190 lbs). Both were full fuel load.
The 48 lbs difference quoted above for the ATS-V to 4BW is the equivalent of 8 lbs of gas so I doubt that’s the reason, it’s more likely the better bespoke PS4S on the...
I’m with you that at the prices they are publishing I’m not interested. I paid less OTD for my loaded 2020 C8.
I doubt your average SM attendee is really pushing these cars that hard - that’s based on attending 6 of their GM classes over the last 8 years. Sure you’re going to go through brakes...
