Most time is going to be found by when and how you pick up the throttle, as well as managing your speed heading to the apex (e.g. rolling more speed longer). It’s very tough to see this through video.
I’ve been to WGI a couple of times and would like to go back, but I doubt I’d bring the...
Heinricy demonstrated it could run a full T2 race and win on Hoosiers - so it certainly can handle stickier tires. I always tracked my 5BW on stock tires because frankly they are very good and I didn’t see a reason to add more grip.
Both John and I also ran dedicated track alignments, so...
John Heinricy was running Hoosiers on the 4BW he campaigned in T2. I believe there was another thread a while back about slick sizes where several of us had done some research.
I ride a 1300GS and love it. My area is full of gravel roads that very few cars drive on. I’ve also done the MABDR a couple of times and it’s really fun to be out in the middle of nowhere with just what you can carry on the bike.
CCBs perform fine when cold, they also have more initial bit if you take the time to burnish them.
The true Motorsports carbon carbon brakes (different construction) need temp to work properly, and that’s one of the reasons you don’t see them in road applications.
I don’t think that .28 deg vs .19 deg total toe is going materially affe t tire wear. The left to right difference is just how straight the steering wheel is.
I am running the track alignment and have that wear but haven’t let it get down to where it split like yours. I align myself and know the toe is correct, so it must be the camber.
My theory is that if you do a lot of long highway driving with the track alignment that part of the tire gets...
I don’t think this has been posted here, but I joined a FB group about carbon ceramic brakes and there was a question about the difference between the 5BW and Corvette CCBs. The reply from RB is below, but it explains why I’m seeing good wear and why they also have a min thickness on the rotors...

You’ll also need some fittings to replace what notice uses on the hose
I’m curious whether you have CCBs or not? Manual or auto? Any signs of a fluid leak?
Wasn’t there a recall that had to do with repositioning the brake lines? I could see where if you had the wheel at full lock and there wasn’t enough brake line play something could leak or pinch a line.
I’m skeptical GM will offer the package with anything but the 2R tires. People have been begging for the Corvette Z07 package with the non-Cup tires for the past two generations. GM has always stood by the fact that the suspension, diff, PTM were calibrated for that tire only and it wasn’t safe...
With that logic you’d think the used prices on these cars would’ve held up better. Having a 3 year old car worth half what a new one costs is a tough pill.
I went to my local dealer to get a trade estimate for my loaded 22 5BW with everything except sunroof. They offered me $70k and the ‘25 with precision pack would be over 140K out the door.
