I have a '24 CT5 blackwing with a Proclip mount.

Doesn't attach to the vent (the trim piece above).
I've used (& still use) fluid film but it's stinky. Woolwax is another similar product that I've heard is a little better (I have some but haven't used it yet).
Combination of put pins, the trunk gasket, a lip at the front (above open to rear seats), & I think the side trim pieces, though I've had the side pieces out for several months.
Anyway, held in there with no issues.

Longer answer:
Presuming the larger tires are also Pilot sport 4Ss, then yes it will reduce the gap. The 315/30/20s are 1.2" larger diameter so the gap should be .6" less. Wouldn't expect any issues rear but unsure about any rubbing issues front; prob. depends...
