Here is the response I got from their rep:
“
Based on the rotor weights I’m finding online and knowing what pad the 380x34mm front rotor uses, I can make an educated guess that we will be able to pull 3-4 lbs out of each front rotor. The rear rotor is proving a bit more difficult – we don’t...
All very good questions. I sent them to the rep. I’ll try to answer based on my experience : the weight savings for the 4BW won’t be so big, my guess 1-2 lb per corner. I’m waiting to get the confirmed data of how much saving the 1LE Camaro got.
Yes, stock rotors are suitable for track use...
Hi everybody,
I've been in touch with a Girodisc rep regarding development of front rotors for the 4BW. For those of you that don't know Girodisc manufactures in the USA top notch 2 piece rotors for track (and street) use. Usually you will see some weight savings over stock rotors + their metal...
I learned the hard way that everybody has a different foot. Most driving shoes are very narrow. I have a very wide toe box.
The good thing is that the Black Wing pedals are not too close together, so narrow shoe isn’t a must.
I’m using these days a Puma shoe. I’ve ordered is half a size bigger...
Two notes:
1. I daily drove with the track alignment for a few weeks after my track event. After going back to stock alignment I realized how much the daily driving is more comfortable. The suspension absorbs bumps way better and steering wandering is gone on a ‘bad’ road.
2. It looks like we...
As noted above: I confirmed with a tech from Girodisc that the front pads of the 4BW are the same as 6 gen 1LE or C7 Z06.
As for the rear pads, I think ( but cannot confirm) that they are the rears of 6 Gen ZL1
Looking forward to your feedback. That’s the downside of having a special limited number car - less incentive for aftermarket.
We need to start a petition for Girodisc to create 4+5 BW rotors !
Sun roof is about 50 lb and less head room. I wouldn’t be worried about lap times, but it’s naturally more toll on the brakes and tires at the track. The car is already consuming brakes like crazy.
I personally would avoid it if possible.
No lift shift is a great feature for track driving. You are tracking out of a corner in 3rd and there’s a straightaway where you bang it into 4th. You have to be really close to redline before the shift. It’s better to do it in a straight line, as it sometimes unsettles the car. I wouldn’t...
At the beginning of this thread (post #12) I posted a printout that I got from the dealer. Only one of the options had E LSD. That’s what I used. Filled 1.3 qt. No issues ( yet ) one month later
I've never heard of the passenger's side fluid. I does not mean that I'm not wrong. Haven't heard about it in the Camaro world as well. Also, the fluid number that I used for the rear diff was 19418501. Different number for 5BW. I followed the owners manual and added 1.3 qt (not 1.6 as this doc...
