I've cooled down from being so livid with Thompson Cadillad in Raleigh, NC. I had called them earlier in the week and they called me on that Friday confirming I was interested in placing and order and if they had allocations. I said yes, do you have an allocation now? I get "let me...
I have them on my 09 CTS-V. They are good for living somewhere cold without much snow (NC in my case). They are nowhere near as good and the summer 4S but at least you won't slide off the road when it's less than 30 degrees out. On the 09 V you can't go more than about 1/2 throttle in 1st gear...
I used to have a really hard time getting my 2001 Oldsmobile Aurora to pass the readiness tests. There was a problem in the transmission that if you didn't accelerate fast enough it would set a code about excessive slipping. But if you drive that way (which I normally do) another test wouldn't...
Does anyone know where the ambient (outside) temperature sensor is located? That factory service manual shows a picture of it near some wire bundles but doesn't say where it is. Any it doesn't say you need to remove anything to get at (which I assume it is wrong about).
I think if you wash hands and wipe it down you will be ok. I used to even put the steering wheel felt cover it shipped with on when dropping it for warranty work. I'll take a picture in the morning so you can see how it looks after 100k miles and 13 years.
I too was worried about wear so when I...
I never noticed dust on it specifically. The dash leather is a dust magnet but the wheel seems fine. In the early years of ownership I'd probably clean the inside at least once a month. After have kids several years ago it dropped to about 4 times a year.
I have Alcantara on my 09 CTS-V that I've owned since new. It still looks and feels fine. For the first 10 or so years of ownership I always washed by hands before driving it to reduce the oil. Then I got lazy about it for the last 3 years. I can't say I've noticed any difference. To clean it I...
So looking at the Michelin site a P285/30 rear won't work on the stock 11" wheel (maybe because it is a runflat and lower profile). The P275/35 will so I'm leaning toward a square setup since it sounds like the taller rear (but narrower) will indeed fit.
For reference a P285/30 can go up to a...
I test drove my V1 before buying. Didn't test the V2 because like rdollie above I knew the next generation would be better than the last. I never got around to owning the V3 (partly life got in the way but also no manual).
This parts catalog seems to have everything (unlike several other sites). But I couldn't find anything that looked like your part. Maybe you'll have better luck:

I don't have a 5BW yet, but I'm very happy with my Quickjack that I use on my V2. The only "hard" part about setting it up is getting the jacks parallel. But after this most recent winter tire switch I've figured out I can make a simple wood jig to use to align the 2 jacks to the wheels.
For the 5 I wonder if 265/35R19 F and 285/30R19 R would work. It's only a -2.3% F/R difference (stock is -1.5%) and 1.1%/1.9% smaller than stock. That seems like it wouldn't have a noticeable impact on the speedometer or PTM. The 285 would be the min width to fit on the stock rear wheels. I'd...
I got my first Cadillac at 21 (2000 STS). Then an 04 CTS-V, then my current 09 CTS-V. I'll be 44 by the time I get the 5BW.
The 09 V has been the most reliable car my wife or I have owned. It will be 13 years old this April.
I'd really like to keep up the trend of only having V8s (even the...
The stock fronts are 275/35 19 which is a 26.6" diameter. The rears are 305/30 19 which is a 26.2" diameter. There were some posts on another thread that made it sound like the 305 was a very tight fit. It's not clear if the tight fit matters with a larger diameter tire with a narrower tread...
I don't see the Michelin in the stock rear size. The front is listed as "new" and came out when that added a whole bunch of sizes earlier this year (including the stock V2 sizes). I don't see anything about more planning size announcements although hopefully they will make the rears for the 5BW...
I guess Hendrick changed his mind. Back in 2004 when I was young and dumb I paid an ADM on the 2004 CTS-V they had in the showroom. I made back some of that on my wife's 1st BMW (but ended up using a non Hendrick dealer). For my 2009 V Hendrick were again jerks so I went with a dealer 40 min...
