Agreed. Also noticed their car only had $8k in options, so had to be steel brakes, and it also had a sunroof.

Yeah, every manual car I've had has been able to do that, except my Integra had the same problem when I put big lumpy cams in it.

Funny thing is, they're not THAT limited (1,250) and they're all more or less the same spec/color, so not really that unique? Give me a PTS GT3 manual any day.

Heh, I know a guy who paid $150k ADM for his. But they did give him two tickets to The Quail. So... $148k ADM...

Argh, R&T might actually get $50 out of me for an annual membership with this one. Is anyone a member and can post the article? https://www.roadandtrack.com/reviews/a45755125/cadillac-ct5-v-blackwing-vs-bmw-e39-m5/

QQ: what's latest status on magnesium wheels?!?

If all this is true, then these aren't actually very light. 26.4kg = 58lbs. If the tire is 28lbs then that's a 30lb front wheel? Rather heavy. I recall the standard wheels are 29lbs front and bronze is a little heavier. So the mag ones might be a tiny bit lighter than the same bronze wheel...

Not a BW review, but it's funny how without AWD and PDK helping out, a $280k 911 performs virtually identically to a manual, RWD 5BW: https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/a45547693/2023-porsche-911-sport-classic-test/

    Is it a toy?

They complement each other so well. I really think I'll have these two for an indefinite amount of time, they're outstanding.

    Is it a toy?

I mostly work from home, but mine is a daily and I am at a 9k/yr pace due to 1x/wk 80mi round-trip, school drop-offs, and weekends/errands. It's outstanding for me in that application. I do take it out for "fun" drives whenever I can, which is not often enough. My toy is a Lotus Elise, the...

    For your amusement

Huh, I can have text messages read to me and I can respond to them via voice w/Android Auto.

What "don't" you like about your BW"?

I'm so glad it has a ton of cameras because it truly is a major pain. I've even had to make a 3-point turn to turn around in a cul-de-sac!

Have you heard a BW in the wild?

I've always been into high-revving N/A engines (owned 9,000rpm S2000, 8,400rpm E90 M3, 8,500rpm Elise) and didn't grow up loving American V8 muscle, but the BW is so angry and has a lot of character and bravado. Best-sounded car I've owned even after modding others.

Have you heard a BW in the wild?

I purposely left mine in the loudest mode when I took it for the dealer oil change. It was abundantly clear when my vehicle's service began and concluded.

What made you choose a Blackwing and what else did you consider?

Mine never left me stranded and never had an electrical problem. But it was just constant little things to fix and preventatively fix, stuff you shouldn't have to think twice about before 100k miles. I only took mine from 66k to 95k but it had more problems in that time than all my other cars...

Do you actually use the HUD?

It's always on but I almost never use it. Just feels unnatural to me - like I'm not expecting digital information with the "analog" stuff going on through the windshield. I do like the shift lights in the HUD though!
