    2025 CT5 & CT5-V Blackwing Order Support Guide

Sonax Wheel Cleaner + ceramic coated + pressure washer = this. Didn't touch them with anything else.

    Password for Connected Services

Only a couple of days - it has sat for longer. First time since I bought it and did the first password entry in February 2023.

    That worked - thank you.

    Password for Connected Services

After 18 months of ownership, my BW started asking me for my Connected Services password. Not only do I not remember it, I can't figure out which email to locate in order to reset it. Any tips here? I'm not even quite sure what it's for as I basically just use Android Auto for everything, and...

Agree with some of this and disagree with others. On the v2 wagon vs. 5BW, it's hard to say which one will be more sought-after. I slightly lean to the wagon, but the 5BW being the last manual V8 sedan after the MT took a generation off - and being an all-around great car like the v2 wagon -...

    Excellent Mileage

Yesterday I went for a drive specifically to get my son to nap. Since I was in no hurry, I set cruise at 65, with a little bit of traffic. 25 miles, out and back on the same highway (which has some hills), an honest 30mpg in a 5BW! I might have to drive the speed limit more often... J/K!! 🤣

Agreed, I think a 7-8 second 0-60 is probably ideal for a kid - plus a driver education course.

    Media dumps

Judging by the stupid stuff I did as a teenager with a 140hp Integra and how this car goads even a calmer, older, more mature version of me to do stupid stuff, I do hold the parents somewhat accountable. No teenager should have access to a car like this without supervision. The fact he was...

CT5-V Has your engine blown up yet?

Great link, thank you. I just wish they had said over what time period/mileage the failures were. I do think a certain (low) percentage of failures is to be expected. That's why commercial airliners have backup systems, and backups to the backups. Even Honda, #1 by a large margin in the list...

CT5-V Has your engine blown up yet?

I can't say I worry about it too much. That's what a warranty is for (not that I WANT that to happen), and if it hasn't blown by 6yrs/70k, it's probably in the clear. I was hoping it was just due to a "bad batch of parts" but since blown engines now span MY22-MY24, I doubt it can be blamed on...

What did you do to your Blackwing today?

Prettied it up for Monterey Car Week

It is pretty funny that the new M5 added an ungodly heavy PHEV system to a twin-turbo V8 to get to 717hp, and then this comes out making 1,064 with no hybrid assist at all. And with a flat plane crank and revving to 8k!

What did you do to your Blackwing today?

Know this is old and maybe a dumb question, but how did you apply the black paint while keeping the colored parts? I'd love to do the same thing, and save some $ while I'm at it!

New M2 does have a (BMW) manual.

    CT5-V 2025 CT5-V Blackwing pricing

Other than it consistently shows up a month or two AFTER new model year production starts, which is dumb. I want to say sometime in July-August typically.

That Shadowline trim really popped for that model year.

    CT5-V 2025 CT5-V Blackwing pricing

By my math, isn't it more like $15k for auto and $12k for manual vs. 2022? Roughly 15% inflation over 3 years is significant, but IMO they were underpriced to begin with. $85k MSRP for a base manual in '22 was a steal.

    2025 Fat A** BMW M5

The new C63S PHEV has also been panned because of its weight, plus the 4-cyl engine. It's 4,750lbs vs. ~4,150lbs for the prior gen, which was V8 but RWD. So in going PHEV, adding AWD but losing 4 cylinders, it gained ~600lbs. This M5 already had AWD, and basically the same engine. So in simply...

    2025 Fat A** BMW M5

For context, it's 295lbs heavier than a top-end 760i xDrive, and within ~50lbs of an X5 M and base X7. It's actually more than a Model X Plaid, a 6-passenger electric SUV that would leave this for dead at the lights. As a former E39 M5 and current 5BW owner, I feel validated in my choices. I'm...
