The next level upgraded seats were worth it for me since I wasn't a fan of the base level seats but I haven't tried those base level seats at the same time so I guess they would have been okay as well... Maybe.

I would keep what you have unless you just want to try something different. I used to have a 23 Honda Civic type r. I found better cars so I'm not going back to that one. The small fuel tank on the CTR was annoying along with feedback from my kids that the car was simply geeky.

I wouldn't overthink it too much especially if you're planning to enjoy it and keep it for a little while. Try to find something with low options and the essentials and go from there. GM makes good cars, and both the 4 and 5 black wings are awesome.
