So, I finally finished the installation of my spoiler this weekend. I was hoping I would have some secret sauce for bolting down the outside future buyers to give you more confidence in doing this with exact tools and methods to easily install this. Unfortunately, that isn't exactly the case...
Okay so I drilled the holes and lay the spoiler on the car. Everything seems to fit nice except around the bend in the trunk on the front of both sides of the spoiler. Seems to be fine around the back. I heard how well this fit for everyone else and I am wondering if others had this experience...
2 were performance, but only 1 of those got back to me. Other was body shop. Honestly I was a bit surprised, maybe I should call around to a few other places, but I was trying to stick with places with the best reviews on Google.
I have been starting to research this more too, I have had my spoiler for awhile. Finally called some places to see about how much it would cost to just get it installed that way I wouldn't have to deal with any frustration myself. 2 of them refused to even do it without templates or at least...
Honestly demand is probably biggest factor. There aren't that many 5BW out there and owners are probably less likely to mod them over owners of straight up sports/muscle cars.
I am not saying it won't happen, I wouldn't be shocked either way, but I think people who seem so sure a refresh will happen may be surprised that it may not be worth it to bother for GM. Its not some foregone conclusion some people are making it out to be.
People keep saying there is a coming refresh with no actual evidence. Honestly I wouldn't be completely shocked if 2024 is the end of the line for the current Blackwings with only the CT5 and CT5-V receiving any kind of refresh after that. It really is going to depend on if GM thinks a refresh...
Looks much better than my original artist concept. :p
@Terrance Sig you mentioned a long time ago when you started working on the spoiler that early adopters of the spoiler would get some priority to order the splitter first. Is this still true? I am pretty sure I was one of the first to order...
Yeah some of these are probably sold. My dealer told me when I ordered mine that I may see it go up for sale on their site when the car shipped to them, because the system did this automatically. It indeed got listed on their site for weeks as "for sale" even though it wasn't.
I think GM wants Cadillac to move more electric than its other brands because its their luxury brand. I don't see another ICE super sports sedan from Cadillac. The next "Blackwing," assuming that stick with that name, will most likely be an electric sedan with like 1000HP+ or something more...
Yeah I thought the rumor was the original carbon fiber supplier went belly up and that is one of the reasons for the constraints, hopefully GM found a better supplier.
It is funny how some people get a lot of attention (relatively speaking) and some people seem to get none. Not sure if it has anything to do with paint color, location, or what.
Like I said it doesn't get as much attention on the road as the Lotuses (Lotii?) that I have owned, but it got way...
I agree, I don't think the 4/5BW will be around as long as people think. GM is so heavily pushing Cadillac to electric that I am not sure how long the ICE Blacwings will really be around. I really don't think its going to be 6 model years though. Maybe 4 at the most, but I could even see 2024...
